Amazon - Is it set up correctly?

   When I first had amazon at hubpages, I was given affiliate code, which I was originally using: hubpagesXXX-XX
   
   Now, with the new Amazon program, my affiliate code on the earnings page at HP is: hubacctXXX-XX
   
   Is this correct? I don't seem to be getting any activity on my account since changing over and I'm concerned it is set up wrong...

      It should read hubacctXXX-20

      Those are what you should see when your account is setup for the HubPages Amazon program.  You can double check the setting here as well.

      Click the configure button to the left of "Amazon Program" for more information.
      
      It should say this
      
      "The Amazon Program (via the HubPages Earnings Program) is currently active for your account. If you would like to change this, please click the help button below."

      I still haven't figured out how to get Amazon products in the capsules. I use to use the URL at Amazon. It does not seem offered now when you click on there link button. I heard you can insert an Amazon product with a search at the Amazon capsule. Is that the means now to accomplish this? Honestly, I only place eBay products on now using specific stores and products. Maybe I should play a bit more and figure it out

         To get specific Amazon products in capsules, go to product on Amazon and copy the ISBN number or ASIN number and paste it into the Hubpages box. Otherwise, use keywords describing the exact product so it finds it.

               Most people here have more success with Amazon than eBay, but only if you choose the right, relevent products.

         If I'm choosing specific products on Amazon, I copy and paste the ASIN number (you'll find it about half way down the page usually).   
         
         I'm not sure what you mean by the URL.   The URL is the URL (visible in the top bar of your browser when you have the product page open). You do not use affiliate links in the Amazon capsule, you just paste the ordinary URL and HubPages adds your affiliate code automatically.

            When first using Amazon at Amazon Associates i clicked on link button to the right of the product. That did at that time provide a URL to copy/paste at the HP Capsule. The provided URL by Amazon included in the address a queue to my account. Consider you are signed into your Amazon Associate account when doing that . . .
            
            That is all I knew and it worked. I got sales and was paid. I left for a year and now when you click that button it shares a html, which could be used at a blog and etc. It states it no longer supports a URL, yet once did. I was not aware of the ASIN until today. Don't know what to say, but the URL method worked for me for 2 years

               Never tried it myself, just used the ASIN which I found in some old tutorial somewhere. The ASIN method worked for the last few years for me. But I personally use keywords, that way if the one particular product is not listed anymore, the next matching product appears and you don't have to update the hub. Eg, I used the keywords: Endless Ocean 2 Wii for finding a wii game.

               That's interesting because someone else recently mentioned they've been using the same method all this time.  It worked for them too - but it's not the correct thing to do!
               
               The whole reason you paste your Amazon code into your HP account is so that HubPages can add it automatically to the capsule.  You should not be pasting your affiliate code in there, just the straight (not logged in) URL of the page, or the ASIN number.  Much simpler!
