I recently wrote a hub titled "Stronghold Crusaders Vs Age of Empires 3" (Comparison of two games) after finding the number of search queries for this keyword through adwords. Adwords showed around 100,000 searches for this keyword but when I published that hub I which was also selected for editors choice it hardly clocked 10 views per day. Their is something wrong in my interpretation of adword results. The more experienced hubbers can they please identify the errors

You are misunderstanding how keywords and search engines work.

      1) First off, new content will take a while to make any headway when it comes to organic traffic. It can take up to 2 years for your article to age.

      2) There is no guarantee that your content will get any of the 100,000 searches. There are other content written about the same subject before you and those are the ones Google places confidence in.

      3) Each new content thins the traffic quota. If there are 100,000 global monthly searched for a particular search term, each time new content is added with those keywords the search engines have to spread the traffic over those articles.

Did you also do a search to find out how many articles contain the same keywords? If there are 100,000 searches for this term and 1,000,000 webpages about the same search terms, imagine how difficult it would be to get any sort of traffic.

You picked a Hub topic which is already being covered by many other web writers, most-notably really popular gaming sites which draw massive amounts of followers.  If you want to get that traffic, you have to write things that no one has already written, you need to get your writing out there first, and you need to advertise it so those hundreds of thousands of searchers know it exists.

In short, unless you put a lot of years of work into it, you are going to have a really rough time beating the gamer review sites who are already doing that for a living with full staff and advertising budgets, and professional player/writers who get all the games in advance.

Try to google this keyword if you have time you will find that their is nothing else in competition.
I am trying to figure out exactly how do you find search volumes for a specefic keyword.

Alikhan3, You are missing the whole picture.  Inside Keyword planner, click tab “Keyword ideas” and you will see the following picture.  It seems your long tail keyword does not have lots of search volume, which explains the lack of traffic.

if your hub is content rich, you should be able to rank well in a few months because competition for key word is low to medium

Just a heads up, the competition applies to advertisers only. You want keywords with high competition because it means more advertisers are competing for their ads to place. This drives up the price they're willing to pay for click in order to have their ads placed.

I am already ranked in the top 10 results for this long tail keyword and their is no other article in competition.
It only looks like as if something went wrong in the interpretation of the adwords results which I am trying to figure out with the help of you guys.

That's great information, Cardisa!  I've been trying to figure out how that works for some time now.

Looking at the picture you've provided, it appears you're looking at an 'ad group', rather than your specific keyword. Ad groups contain several different related keywords and the search volume is listed for the group as a whole. Switch over to 'keyword ideas' to see the actual search volume for your keyword.

Of course, the search volume is merely the average number of searches that occurs for that keyword. If your article isn't on the first page of the search results for that keyword, you won't see any of that volume directed your way. Very few searchers pass the second page when looking for something, and even if they search your keyword, if they can't see your article in the search results, you won't receive traffic.

As far as boosting your search ranking goes, you need to write quality content that beats your competitors. Search for your keyword, look at the articles on the first page, find out how many backlinks, Google +1s, Facebook shares, tweets, etc those sites and the articles have and you'll have a good idea what you're competing against. If you can't beat those sites, you can't rank for that keyword, and if you can't rank for that keyword, you won't receive traffic.

I agree with you.  Switching to "Keyword ideas" gives actual search volume for one's Keyword.
