The hubs that used to get 50-100 visits a day are down to 10-20 now. While most of the hubs have not been hit as hard, others have. Have you been affected by the update, too? What do you suggest to recover from it?
I am experiencing a hard hit, as most of my hubs won't get featured, or as soon as I get all of my hubs featured, the other day some of them will get the sign of "not featured because of traffic". It is driving me crazy. My views fluctuate a lot as well, but I can say they are constant somehow, as their margin of change is 100-200 views per day, but overall the amount is almost the same. Still, not as good as it was a couple months ago, not to mention that a year ago things were much much better. Things like this, do take a troll on you, and it is difficult some days to keep the spirit up and keep working on them. However, I am not giving up.
You might want to see if your hub has been plagiarized and is now ranking higher than yours.
Certainly plenty of us who write on health topics have been hit by Fred. My top article is getting less than 25% of the traffic it was getting before.
He writes about games, TV and Movies. I don't think that's a YMYL, so it's a little surprising.
HCLPD, when was the last time you edited your articles. There are lots of them with no bio or copyright notice. You might also think about changing the layout. With mobile use on the rise, a lot of users prefer a straight line format. Full-width photos and polls are often better. You can go into your hub and see what it looks like for mobile users, or full width your capsules.
It is so disappointing, earnings and traffic. I had just got to the stage where I could rely on a monthly payment from HubPages and BOOM!! Now I am having to look at other ways to make up that income.
This happens every time Google makes a big move.
"Panda". "Penguin". "Fred".
Every single time, views tank. Every single time, people flock here talking about how their views tanked.
Then they pick back up. Until next time.
Yes, I've been hit. There has been much talk in the forums about it. Some steps have been taken by HP to remedy, but for the most part, we are in wait and see mode. Some of the veteran hubbers have a lot of insight about it, quite helpful in presenting the reality of the situation.
There's no denying it, the hit has been staggering, to say the least. My traffic has fallen drastically. However, if I recall, this happened about this time last year. During first four months of 2016, traffic was down before shooting way up in May.
Still, this year is far lower than I expected. So it's hard to say how much traffic will return, considering that the Fred updates (if that's the culprit) and a natural decrease of traffic will have a profound effect in the future.
And it looks like Fred has arrived at PetHelpful. One of my hubs on this site has lost 40% of traffic in the last three days!
Anyone else seeing a drop in his/her PetHelpful hub(s)?
I have gone slightly back up, but then I go back down with a woomp!
I'm not looking at huge losses anywhere except healdove. Around 10-20 per cent down on the other niches. Not good but not the end of the world.
Some of my newer/updated articles are picking up pace, which is encouraging.
When I re-examined how my accounts are doing, my traffic isn't that bad - a slight drop but building up again - but it's my earnings that tumbled more. Which, as I think was pointed out, is somewhat normal this time of year.
I'm facing pretty much the same issue. Traffic has taken a small hit, but the earnings are way down. When do you think it will pick up?
I have a few hubs on Healdove. I was making at least a dollar a day. Now I am making about 1.5 dollars a week. Feel like all my hard work was in vain. It's worse than pre Healdove.
Traffic and earnings are two different things
earnings can be down because of lower traffic or because the payout rate from the advertisers is lower.
That's where Amazon can prove its worth if you've got a hub with a highly targeted audience - you don't need a lot of traffic if you're getting the right traffic and using Amazon for something very relevant that prompts a "buy"
Up and down and lately more down - I guess this might be why
I don't have the time to mess with it so it has to be okay sooner or later I hope

Hey everyone! I was wondering how all of you newer hubbers are doing! Finding success? Learning the ropes? I wasn't really active until June or so myself; and have since put quite a few up. I'm up to 31 hubs currently, and I think I've done well! I'm clocking over $10 so far this month! This is...

On Sunday, I noticed that many of my hubs made the Editor's Choice list. Though I was pleased, I noticed that my views had fallen somewhat. I figured it would take a few days for views to increase since my hubs are no longer on my subdomain but on the main HP domain. However, I checked on my...

I have a couple of niche Blogs on BLOGGER that i have kept up for years. They include some content that is relatively old, but it is informative, thus according to Google, useful and valuable. But, I ran a little test over the past couple of months.I worked on a number of my posts in two of the...

I have noticed recently that a substantial number of my hubs have become un-featured due to low traffic. I can understand this for those few that have had no views in the last 30 days, however a few of them have had quite regular traffic, one in particular "My Friend the Oak" is one...

How much has changed in the last couple of years? Not sure if anyone here would even remember me. Are things getting better or worse? Just wondering.

Am I taking crazy pills, or is there another google update going on, or what? My traffic dropped on 8/8/13 from about 150 views a day to 0-9. My top hub is getting zero every day now. My hub score dropped from 90-something to 76. No overpromotion, no suddenly unfeatured...
