Who Knows? Higher Hub score vs Driving Traffic To Your site

   Got Answers? I believe I remember reading that the more commercial your Hub is meaning more outbound links to your website ect. the lower your Hub score will be. This also means less vistors to your Hubs which means less clicks and less money will be made with Google Adsense. But aren't you much more likely to actually make more money by having a little bit lower score like maybe 90 instead od 95-100 and directing people to your website by having a link to your website at the end of each article where you could sell a product for $20 or more vs earning a few cents per click on Hubpages?
   
   Are there people that have a link to their website at the end of each Hub that actually consistantly have a Hub score of 95-100?
   
   Roughly speaking would you get about twice the traffic with a 100 score vs 90?

   I do not understand Hubscore.  Mine is sinking and I've no idea why--I have a lot of poetry and bl & wh photos on my page.  Wonder if that is it?  I hear also it is kind of a community thing?

   Are you speaking of linking your hub website or your business website to your hub?  I don't think we are allowed to link our business sites to our hubs.
   
   I don't get the scores either, but I'm here for the fun of writing again.

   I don't worry about Hubscores.  I haven't found them to have much, if any, correlation with the earnings potential of my Hubs.

      Exactly. Hubscore has no correlation to how much traffic you will receive or how much money you will make with hubpages.  It's really just a nice community feature and a way of weeding out really bad hubbers from those that write nice hubs and contribute to the community. 
      
      Let's face it, Google couldn't care less what your hubscore is.  You'll get traffic from writing a good hub with original content that is useful to the reader.  Hubpages rank well in the search engines because of the amount of original content here that isn't too spammy (unlike Squidoo which got out of control with IM'ers) and that hubpages has a nice PR of 6 to boot.
      
      And why wouldn't you put a link to your website (or whatever you are promoting) in it?  To avoid a low score? 
      
      I understand that people write just for the sake of writing here, but many people (like me) also use it to make money online (whether that's from adsense, affiliate programs or promoting our products). 
      
      That's not to say I think my hubs are no good - quite the opposite, I enjoy writing good hubs and take a lot of pleasure in creating them, but my primary goal is to make money so that's what I focus on.
      
      Probably why my hubscore is so low
      
      But do I care?  Nope.  I'd rather make money than get my score to 100.

   i thought it was the opposite of that, the more links leading to your hub, then the higher you hub score, because then there are more people visiting your hub, which means its good, so the hub score should be higher... that's just what i thought.

   Our Hub score fluctuates from day to day, but our traffic remains about the same.
   Sadly our income remains dismal....
   Probably a higher hub score does mean more traffic, because you are then further up the list of Hubbers - but really, how many people log on and go through the list of Hubbers to decide what to read?
   It is more likely that a Hub gets more traffic when it gets a lot of comments as it is then on that box on the Home page showing most recent activity.

      Well yes, if you're talking about traffic from other Hubbers.  But they're not paying traffic - that comes via the search engines, and those people come straight from Google to your Hub.  I doubt many non-Hubbers ever see the front page of HubPages, and none of them can see Hubtivity.
