At last I have my adsense account. I am so happy. Now I just need to do the 30 day challenge and learn how to make some money. Thankyou everyone who helped me reach this first milestone.
I want to sign up for this adsense in google but i'm from philippines. is it possible to have an account though i'm living in philippines? because one of the requirements there is to indicate a state where i live in. please help..thank you.
I hope so too but I have nothing to compare it to. I am dying to know if I am doing good in my first 2 full days but I am frightened to ask.
You can tell me how much you have earnt in two days if you want, I can tell you if it is good. If you dont want to disclose on here, then feel free to drop me an email.
The stuff that I was talking about in this thread.... that doesnt apply to earnings, anybody is free to disclose their actual monetary figure.
Many Congratulations..... stick the publisher ID in immediately as you are getting some good traffic, and make sure that you sign up to analytics and link this with your adsense, this is a very handy tool for working out a) what keywords are driving your search engine traffic and b) which hubs are earning you good money.
Fingers crossed for you now.
oh dear I will try to do this without cocking up...What does this mean...I have had 11 impressions...1 click and earned 26cents???? means nothing to me but i have earned some money wooo hoo.
Helen, adsense doesnt like people talking about their clicks in relation to impressions, so you should edit that post
Impressions means that that many people have been on your page whilst your adsense ads have been displayed. You have had 1 of those people click on your ads, and you have earnt xx pence for that click
(you should edit that post Helen)
Analytics isnt really something that you can mess up, just sign up for it and your adsense will give you the option of linking it. That will tell you which of your hubs just earn you that click (you shouldnt tell us which hub earnt you that either).
Ry.
how do I link the two together. it's asking for URL is that my profile and if so it says name what do I put???
Yes I did that but I need to sign up for analytics and its asking URL of my domain and the name whatever I put in it's not working...Ryan you should know by now nothing comes easy to me...
I now have a tracking code for google adsense and it says to paster it on the web page I wish to track so where is the place to put it ..help!!!!
I think the URL that you have to put in is just http://hubpages.com/profile/Helen+Cater
Then Analytics will track your page views for this page.
I think that adsense will then realise this, and offer you the chance to link your adsense with your analytics via the main adsense page.
Sorry it was too long ago that I did it, but something like this.
You dont need to paste any code, just your publisher ID for hubpages..... you have obviously done that already, as you have earnings
Helen, like I said, you really should edit your post which talks about impressions, clicks, and the value of your click.... people can get banned from adsense for this.
lol...
Ryan, swing over to the adsense forums and learn about what is prohibited and what is not
Also consider how google/adsense is going to link a forum statement to a publisher id?
Dont just repeat generalizations.
Hubforums is a great place to pick up misinformation, superstition and of course nuggets of very good advice.
Just in case you never look, the prohibition is about specific ad units - to be careful perhaps avoid talking about a specific page or site that you own on that site.
again, how will a forum post be linked to an article?
general impressions, ctr earnings go ahead, its shoptalk , join an internet marketing forum or two - and see the response you would gain from spreading that misinformation
Ok fair enough mate, I was just told that on here a couple of times and would hate for a fellow hubber to get banned from adsense. I will stop telling people this..... but I am not going to talk about this myself, as this was also confirmed by Maddie Rudd..... who in fairness, is probably going to know a fair bit.
It is extremely easy for adsense to find your publisher ID. I could find your publisher ID right now, anybody can go to one of your hubs and find your publisher ID.
yes, you as a hub user could read a forum post..travel to one of my hubs..find the pub id of an ad (60% of the time) youll get it!
A human can do this, a bot cannot, do you imagine their are humans scanning the web and specifically forum threads combatting TOS violations on pages without any ads?
Im not saying it isnt true either!
Im saying the limited info she(op) disclosed outside of the location of the ad units w/o any specific reference to the ads in question performs no disservice to advertisers (who dont want bid increases) nor is TOS infraction
better safe than sorry, you are very right!,
but being well informed is the best protection..the restriction an dthe language of the TOS refers to "specific ad units"
Do not disclose confidential information about your account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units or any other confidential information they may reveal to you. However, you may reveal the total money you make as per recent updates to the TOS.
Hi Sunforged. By telling us how many impressions she has had, how many clicks she has had, and how much that click was worth.... she IS disclosing the CTR and the CPM.
I can calculate, and so can you, the CTR and the CPM of that account in about 5 seconds. Which is why I believe that it is unwise to disclose those three factors together, and would indeed infringe the adsense tos. I think that Maddie Rudd may have confirmed this in another thread.
Anyway, each to their own. Your right, chances of anything happening are probably very slim..... but I wont be taking that chance, once you have lost your adsense you have lost it forever
Have you had a go with this sunforged http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/20220
ill give it a shot, I really dont read hubs unless they come up in google during my research process
To many ads, LOL!
but, i bet i have a couple of christoph reillys bookmarked
Out of curiosity, Helen, how long did it take for your AdSense account to be approved? (ooh, and how many hubs had ya written when you applied?)
Thanks in advance for any help! And congrats!
this is fun...
http://www.jensense.com/2009/03/05/if-y … sense-ads/
Its my theory that a lot of this adsense fear comes from all the people who get accounts, commit all sorts of click fraud, get booted and then claim they "never did anything wrong"
jensense is a great easy to follow site about adsense news policies and tricks
i found her site via matt cutts' (of google) webpage..her stuff is on point and an easier read than googles own info
Looks good, I have bookmarked for a rainy day....
Oh dear well I am sure as a hubber asking advice it would be looked at and if they then looked at my little hubs they would see I am genuine in my queries but I will take note of this and not discuss again. I am still no where near finding how to connect adsense and analitics together. I have a headache trying different things so I have to give up the ghost on this one. Nothing seems to be working. I went on a relevant hub and did as they said and still it is showing as not activated. If anyone knows how to do this please tell me. thanks Ryan for all your help again!!!!
Thanks everyone I am sooo happy now I can really get going on this.
Phew thats ok then cause I disclosed in the other thread. Why is everything so complicated, but I guess even the ones who have been here a long time still havn't learnt it all.
