How on earth would anyone find out if ones hubs are being reused? For example Isabella found her hub copied and pasted on another site. Checking this out I saw quite a few on that chickies site that I've seen and had read on hubpages such as Jimmy's, rb101182's, VioletSun just to mention a few. There are so many sites out there, how can one have "constant vigilance"????
This probably shows my ignorance but I wan'na know. regards Zsuzsy
Zsuzsy, it isn't easy. You are asking a great question. I'm not even sure of all of the ways you could find this info. I think Isabella might have been checking to see where her hubs showed up in search results and came across the copied stuff.
I guess, you can remain constantly vigilant by searching for topics you write about, seeing if anyone else has copied your work.
I'm sure more advice will come from other hubbers, and I look forward to reading it.
Pick a couple of unique looking phrases in your hubs, put quotes around them, and search for them in google. For instance to see if your post was lifted, a search for this:
"How on earth would anyone find out if ones hubs are being reused"
would probably tell you.
Thanks Stacie and Paul ! Now I'm on a mission here is me pulling up my sleeves wading into the internet pool...regards Zsuzsy
http://www.copyscape.com/
Though it will only allow 10 searches per domain per month on the free account.
It's not too accurate either.. I have a php-nuke site, and I just can't use copyscape - every other php-nuke site is declared to be the exact copy of mine
True, copyscape is pretty lame. It's easier to copy and paste a few sentences into Google.
I put in one of Isabella's hub URL's and it gave me this link: http://healthhoodianatural.multiply.com … ave_nomore
I wonder if she knows about it? She got plagiarized all over the place...
No, I didnt, I just reported it.
People are really shit.
Edited to say that while that sucks, its not as upsetting as the one thats just been stolen, I am not surprised by theft, but the Englshmen list is very first person and very personal which makes it far more insulting to have stolen.
Advice?
See.. you really ARE illiterate. If you had any kind of vocabulary, youd know you didnt give anything close to advice.
You simply made a comment - which is pretty much all you're capable of.
Now be a good little prat and be quiet.
It's a good thing you used the edit button to correct "You simple made a comment" to "You simply made a comment" because it did make you sound a little... simple.
Do you get something out of unnecessarily using the quote function? You really ARE related to him, arent you.
Im not thankful - I couldnt care less about that site, and I only bothered to report it because the abuse button made it incredibly easy.
In the grand scheme of things, that copied page isn't really that important.
Kind of like you.

Usually, I see some posts about the fact of being copied by someone else which bothers me but I don't know how to search and find out the truth regarding my articles. It will be of a help if you can suggest a method.

As hubbers, we know that our content can and will be copied. We file DMCA complaints. We try to use CopyScape. We try to sign up for Google alerts. Is there any other way to help protect our content BEFORE it happens, rather than suffering the after-effects of losing Google traffic and having...

I realized today that one of my hubs has been copied and re-published on two different websites. I was looking at my Google Analytics and noticed someone had searched on a complete sentence or two from one of my hubs. When I searched the sentence on Google myself I saw the other websites that...

We all appreciate that it's our own responsibility to protect our own work, but it's a big job, and it's in HubPages interest to help us, because plagiarism affects the whole site's income. On another thread, there have been several suggestions of features HubPages could add. So far we have:-...

If you're like me, you've had a few notifications through about your hubs being copied elsewhere. there are a few ways to find out who is copying your hubs so that you can file a DMCA takedown against them, but one of the quickest and easiest ways is by using a free online service called...

Plagiarized HUBs have occurred in the past and will most likely occur in the future. If you are angry enough to stop this illegal activity, you can put a stop to it now.Recently an illegal site was shut down while plagiarizing numerous HUBs. A simple way to find out if your articles are...
