Why can't I respond more than once to the people that respond to a question I posed?
I asked a question and people responded in a way I wanted to acknowledge. I responded once and when I tried to respond again I was not allowed! Ugh! I want to interact with the hubbers that answer the question and I can't. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around this?
There are only two ways and two times you can respond to any question. One is to give a short answer as I am giving now. The other is to create a hub on the subject. This is true regardless of whether you created the question or, like myself, you are responding to someone else's question.
If you do not feel like creating a complete hub on how these people have helped you, there is another way to contact them-individually one by one. Click on their name to get to their profile page. If they have have the option of contacting them by email, click on that option. some people don't want you cantacting them and have this option turned off. In that case, I would leave a comment on their latest hubs about how much you appreciate their help. It won't matter that the comment is not related to the hub. You can say in the comment that you couldn't contact them any other way. I have contacted people both ways who have helped me.
It is annoying isn't it?! But @FloraBeenRobison is spot on. I've often wanted to thank people for their responses, but feel contacting them directly somewhat over the top.
Perhaps one day we'll be able to just hit a reply and send a quick message. But not just yet!
You can only answer each question once. It's annoying but that's the way it is. There's no way around it. If you want to have a back and fourth discussion with people, post in the Forum.
I was wondering about this myself. Thanks FloraBreenRobison for clarifying this. Another option perdn44 if you want more interaction to your query is to post it in a forum instead of a question.
Thanks for the responses. Here is my one allowable short answer. Lol. I think using the forum is a good idea..perhaps writing a hub if it seems to be of enough interest to people.

I have an odd situation. When someone comments on one of my Hubs that's on a niche site or on discover.hubpages.com, I can't create a reply comment. It logs me out of the site, and when I try to log into the niche or discover site it sends me back to the old hubpages.com. There's some sort of bug....

Do you think it is important to add follow-up comments when people answer your questions? When I answer a question or leave a comment on someone's hub, I appreciate some awknowledgement. I feel surprised (and a bit "cheated" when there is no response) Am I setting my expectations too...

I tried to post this in the answers section-where I think the question should be-but I kept being told the question had already been asked by someone else-not true-and I couldn't post it. This is directed only to hubbers who tend to respond to all comments left on their hub, rather than never...

There seems to be a new bug the last couple of days where I can't add a comment to a Q&A answer. Does anyone else have this problem? The comment field is there after each answer. But when I enter text and click to save it, I get an error stating that comments cannot be saved at this...

"There are two things you can't take back; "one is a word once it is spoken and the other is" ?I once was told the following quote by a very wise person; however, I can not remember the second part. Has anyone else heard this quote and can provide me with the answer; or, can someone...

I'm sure there are many reasons for and against responding to comments left by your readers. What do you think?
