   Hey everyone, Noah's mother just made an update that they are grateful for all the gift, cards and love, but asks that everyone stops sending cards as they are out of room and since they have celebrated Christmas last week.
   
   Thank you for keeping this going throughout the last few days and spreading the awareness so much. I am sure that if you  have a card ready for Noah, you can still send it... but don't worry about sending additional cards.

   Sad to say it looks like Noah is declining rapidly.  My fiance's father died of cancer and she says it's typical of most forms of that disease to speed up towards the end.  While the family has requested that we stop sending cards, the very least we can do is keep Noah and his family in our prayers.

   Sometimes I'm an idiot.  At my last job I worked in a mental health facility and around Christmas we'd solicit donations for our kids who had to spend time away from home and family so they could get treatment.  We were a residential facility so it wasn't as bad as being in an acute hospital setting over the holidays.  Plus most of our kids got to go home for the holidays, the only exceptions being those who had nowhere to go or whose families were physically or sexually abusive towards our kids.  We took great pride in giving those kids the best Christmas of their lives while they were in our charge.
   
   How much worse is it, though, for kids who have chronic or terminal illnesses and have to be away from their families during the holidays.  As horrible as "my" kids may have had it, at least they had a chance at a regular life.  That's something that kids who suffer from chronic or terminal illness are not necessarily guaranteed.
   
   While poking around the Children's Hospital of Michigan website, I found a flyer which lists Toys that are acceptable donations to the hospital.  Some people on this thread have asked how they can help beyond just Noah, and I'd encourage them to donate:  https://www.childrensdmc.org/upload/doc … 20List.pdf
   
   Granted a hospital is different from the residential treatment center I'm most familiar with, but please keep in mind Safety First.  Be particularly careful about young kids and small pieces.  Also if you'd like to donate to the hospital itself, so the can continue the good work they do there, you can buy holiday cards to send to your friends, family or, perhaps, sick kids at a hospital in your community.

    I've asked Hubpages to close this thread to reply.  Whether they do or not, I think maybe we should let it fade into dust.  For Noah's family.  Thank you all for the out pouring of love and support.  It is refreshing to feel the brotherly and sisterly love among HubPage hubbers.  It's been amazing.
