Its odd. Only 3 days ago, my hubscore was 86. Now look at it! How can this score change so radically, so quickly? I have done lots of tweaking on my hubs - making tags better etc. My traffic has increased quite a lot, so why has my score dropped so radically? Anyone knows?
Shazewllyn,
From all the questions you've asked this AM, it's clear you've not read the site FAQ list,
http://hubpages.com/faq/
Give it a good read. You'll understand a lot more about HubPages once you do.
I have given this a read a few times, I have referred. FAQ doesn't quite hit the spot in my learning. I am inexperienced in much of this and there maybe some gaps in my knowledge that I am trying to overcome. Maybe I just learn in a different way x
I don't get scores at all.
As mentioned in this thread I made an alter-ego which has surpassed the score of 85 after two months of no activity and about 1 to 3 hits of traffic a day if that.
No Idea how numbers jump up and down..... hub is weird that way. I've come to the conclusion it does not matter. What does matter is the number of views your hubs bring you and the pleasure and friendships you develop. Keep you own score!
1- I'm leaving this site
2-6 - you fill in the blanks
7- I find the hubs and fans interesting and enjoyable
8- My writing is bringing me pleasure
9- My fans and hubs are a gas
10- this site rocks!
Love - Light - Laughter

Thanks.I think 8 and 7 sums it up for me. What I am surprised with, is how little I know about issues around the writing - like tagging and adsense! This has been a real challenge to me, so I am like a child who's never been in a sweet shop ... saying 'what is this? How does this work? Why does it work in that way?' It is all new to me and the more I do, the newer I feel.. does that make sense? x
well, mine was 96 last night (for weeks now) and this morning it had fallen right down to 92!! And there's nothing different I've done! just know hubberscore has a mind of it's known and it's best not to focus too much on it!
The same thing happened to me so I wrote a couple more hubs and added some extra content to others and my score went back up. I also included keywords in the title.
I could be wrong, but it looks to me as if any time I do anything my score goes down for a day or two, and then goes up. I used to think it was just writing new Hubs that caused the average to go down (because new Hubs go in at 50 and bring the average down). I had the usual drop after doing a new Hub the other day, and then the score went back up to its usual "area". I did a bunch of tweaking, and it dropped pretty dramatically again. If what I think I've observed is correct, your score may be back up in another day or two. Also, you're still pretty new, so I wouldn't be surprised if it works its way up in general anyway.
Hubpages is like a balloon, it inflates by puffing great loads of hard work and breath, then deflates! It will be interesting to watch, but I no longer feel I am part of the elite - boo hoo!
My author score has been around 96 for weeks. I have not published anything up until a few days ago, where I have now published two new hubs. My hubscore has dropped. I will never get how it works, and to be honest it does not bother me as long as it stays in the 90's.
yes, I felt like that - but look at my score now!!!
It is rather low for the amount of hubs, and as the others have said, they look good. I am not sure about the Amazon ads being too much as I am sure hubpages would have told you. The only other thing is when all the stats got added up yesterday, and then fell today, perhaps this made everyones author score drop, as it would be seen as a big drop in traffic. I am sure it will go back by tommorrow.
shazwellyn, I just looked at some of your Hubs, and they look good to me. You probably know the thing about scores under 75 don't get traffic? It would be good if it would go back up (obviously). One thing struck me, and it may just be that I don't know any better; but it seemed you have a real lot of ads for Amazon products. Maybe someone else on here can comment (or maybe you could ask someone who knows) whether there's anything "overly promotional" about too many Amazon ads or not. I can't imagine any other negative factor that could be construed as "negative" with the Hubs I saw. (Of course, as far as I know, if Hubs are considered "overly promotional" you usually get a notice about it. Maybe "overly promotional" just has to do with links, not products?)
If this is correct, then why would hubpages give up to 10 amazon products to promote? Also, these hubs have had the same products when I was 86 and now 74. If anything, my score should have increased - unless there is a manual overide that penalises hubbers if they have to revise a hub?
I have worked hard to make my tags better on all hubs. This has created more traffic. On the basis of the 75 threashold you mentioned, it seems that I am in trouble!
Shazwellyn,
I agree with Lisa's comments and don't think anyone knows how it actually works. I used to think it was a computer that worked out our Hubtivity and gave us a score - but have given up thinking about it.
I'm positive your score will go up again shortly. Meanwhile, there is a nice weekend ahead of you to enjoy.
That is reassuring Lady E. I thank you. Do you think it would be wise, therefore, not to publish a hub until things are better as this seems to decrease the score?
My hub score is 77 (the number at the bottom of all the hub scores) and my author score is 88. So the algorithm of scores is a mystery.
Well, to me it's a mystery as well. But you've got to ask yourself, what is the "utility" of having the process so shrouded in mystery? If one can't figure out what it is about one's behavior that makes scores rise or fall, what use is it? Mine autor score was 93 the other day and it's 89 now. Go figure. The worst kind of "punishment" is that which is unpredictable and seemingly whimsical. Whatdya think?

This is what I have observed with my hubscore. After publishing a hub and leaving comments on other hubs, I get lots of traffic but the hubscore falls by the hour. When I stay away from HubPages for a few days, and the traffic drops to nothing, the hubscore starts to climb and reaches an all-time...

How to increase my hubsore and the hubsore of my hubs?I have attended hubpages for several weeks. And my hubscore was high in the beginning, but now, it sharply went down. I am quite confused about this point. Could you give me some advice on how to increase my hubscore? Thank you in advance!

My author score is now 88. I've been active on the forums, hopping hubs, and answering questions. I haven't had this low of score since when I first started. Does removing poorly performing hubs cause author scores to go down or what is the problem?

My title should have read another hub author score question . I have noticed this hubber that puts up a lot of hubs, however, they are all very short, most less than 100-200 words. The type of hub that can be put up in less than 15 mintues. And, the majority of their individual hub scores...

Just curious why my author score is dropping....My first few hubs were basically promotional and shorter and I had a score of 79. It has dropped to 67 as of today after a new hub I put up that was not promotional and has gotten more traffic than my other hubs. I have deleted a couple of hubs. Will...

If my author score gets higher, will the scores of my hubs get higher? Also, if my author score is higher at the time that I start my hub will that affect the scores of my hubs?
