How long does it take for google to index an article?

Even though an article I published over the weekend is featured and has been crawled, I can't find it anywhere in the search, even if I take text directly from the article and put it in search.

Check for any issue like broken links. Use Title tuner also.I think by now it must have been indexed. Day end process at HP and Google may be having time gaps.

This is what I would have thought to0.  I spent a lot of time researching and putting it together--using all the stellar hub guidelines.  I don't expect it to be high up yet but I would expect that google would know it exists since it has been crawled.

It usually takes a week for my hub to get indexed. So check after a day or two, you will hopefully find it to  be indexed.

Thanks for this.  Some of mine was hitting search engines very quickly but this just seems to be taking longer.

I have had the same problem. Did you try putting the URL in the search box on Google? Usually, it will show up if it has been indexed and the snippet will show when it was recognized by Google. You can also submit the URL to Webmaster Tools and have it crawl the URL manually. Good luck.--Deb

Yes, I did try putting the URL into google and it still didn't know what it was.  I edited a couple of things.  I'll give it a couple more days and then check.

I just copied URL of your last article on "Water Restrictions" and placed it in the SEARCH area on page. Your article came up that it was crawled 12 hours ago (today 3/13). It's out there as far as I can see.--Deb

It will depends on your niche, and when Google finds your Hub it could take a few days to a few weeks. Some of my articles were indexed in a few days, some not for a few weeks. If you back link your Hubs it should speed up the process though.

Also even if Google Crawled the Hub it could be a few pages or more past the first page. Where was it featured? if it was featured on Hubpages does not mean it will rank high in Google it depends on how much competition there is for the topic of your Hub.

It wasn't that it wasn't located on the search.  Google didn't recognize it at all even if you put the title in the search box.  I took GoldenThread's advice and put the URL in webmaster tools and it is now indexed this morning!  Yay!
