I think there are two factors at play. One is it is summer and people are enjoying doing other activities. Once the kids are back to school a routine will settle in again.

Secondly, I think many people have gone to Bubblews to write and read content. Whether this is a permanent move, I can't say.

Have you been following the forums regarding all of the stolen Hubs? There were at least four major hacks, one where the entire HP site is converted to French. It killed a bunch of us. I am only now beginning to recover lost content and traffic. Good Luck.

Things are so topsy turvy right now anything is possible.  What isn't possible is figuring out what the heck is going on.  It is nice to know HP staff are trying to contact Google to straighten things out and get things back on track.

      Hi Mary (till),

I am just at a loss, as my score was just at 97 and then dropped way down to 83 and seems to be frozen.  All of my hubs are featured w/each new hub ever-green.  Some older haiku poetry just may need to move to another site/delete?

Hi Mary - I just don't feel as "secure" here as I used to.  I'm doing everything right but still traffic drops every day.  You're right - things are topsy turvy.

There have been may forums I have read on this, some say HP has too many ads on each hub where other sites do not have as many.  Just found out this morning, we have to go back and take the ebay and Amazon ads down to one now which is explained in the HP weekly.  That will take time for each hub when I just added them. LOL  Anyway, I was thinking it was due to it being summer, but a lot are now writing on Bubblews site for short quick posts under 400 characters and are paid a good bit for commenting and sharing.  All I know is that I had a score of 97 and then it dropped way down to 83 and has been frozen ever since the score changes made!  I published ever-green hubs, hub-hopped, been commenting and sharing, to no avail, so that is a lot of work.  Some on the forums are saying HP site is considered low quality now.  All my hubs are featured and had high scores but now dropping and so I don't know what is going on, as this has never happened before.  It is a lot of work and time spent here, but to no avail, especially being I am away from the house for over 10 hours during the week at work in the city.  I am home only due to husband's surgery for a couple of days.  Love the community here, as there are so many friends, but a lot have already left.  A lot are taking their hubs to other sites and maybe leaving their account here open with one or two hubs in case the site come back as being a quality site.  Oh yes, there is a problem with stolen content, as I have had my stolen and they cannot keep that under control either.

Yes, I love our community of writers and want to continue to support them.  Perhaps prayers will help.  Thanks for your help.

Yes, the community is so very wonderful and many friends here have prayed for me and I for them and still continue to do so, so prayer may just be the ticket dear lady!!!

There is so many changes going on now with HP itself, Google and additional competition from other sites that it is hard to put a finger on the cause of the traffic drop.  It's likely a combination of those factors and more.  All I know is that my traffic has dropped to about a quarter of what it was and my earnings have dropped proportionately.

I plan to ride it out for a while and see if traffic recovers enough to stick it out long term.  HP's new quality assurance program was a big slap in the face to us creative writers.  Many of my good friends and fellow creative writers have already left HP for greener pastures so there won't be a lot of reason to stay if traffic doesn't pick back up.

Yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head about the creative writers being hit the hardest as it was just after that change my score dropped from 97 to 83 and is just frozen in time!!!  So, maybe HP truly wants the creative writers to leave!

I agree with you and I, too plan to "ride it out."  However, I've joined another site to help pick up the slack and have to say I'm making more $ and doing less work.  It's good to have back-up:)

The search changes and HP changes are two main issues. Whatever one may think of me as a writer or otherwise, I have found my hubs copied (often in their entirety) on other sites such as tumblr without even a partial attempt at spinning. As for the people saying the site has been hacked, that another issue an a variety of levels. As for it being summer, my personal experience on HP hasn't seen a drop like this at all during summer. I am a college student and doubt I'll have the time to locate these offenses, file DCMA's, write hubs, acquire ninja SEO skills, promote, jump the other ever-moving hoops, and study. I do like the social aspects of HP but will likely continue my tapering of writing here.

Hello Express10 . . . I agree with you wholeheartedly regarding learning all the nuances to play on defense. That means no time for learning, development, and writing seeking authoring as the goal. Daily living is near to 22 hrs/day. That leaves 2.

Exactly, during the week, I work ten hours away from my home, so get up early and get home late, and then with other life responsibilities, some days zero hours to, jump through hoops, change all to the new rules, comment, share, hub-hop and write!

I, too have never seen a drop in traffic during the summer like this. I guess I'm border-line discouraged even with all the company I have smile  Appreciate your thoughts and your help!
