I have not learned what referral trackers are for? Can someone please point me to a forum post that talks about this? Or if there is no historical post about this can someone tell me what this is and how does it benefit a hubber?
I am asked to create one but I don't know how to do that and what to make of it.

Basically these are a way of earning more income.  You can refer others to HP and you earn 10% if their impressions.  Check this link for complete info:   https://hubpageshelp.com/money/Learning … al-program

I read the link, still don't understand it, sorry. Any example?

Just take the tracking token they have given you and insert it into the code they provide the example for on the help page to create a link.  Then use the link wherever you want (external to the HP site) such as in your email signature or on Facebook, twitter etc. If anyone uses it and signs up for HP your referral code will link them to you and you get 10% of what they earn off of their impressions.

Actually, has anyone actually managed to make anything significant off of this?  Just curious if it's worth the effort to run around embedding it places.

Usually this works best when the author knows someone interested in writing and has a chance to "pitch" HubPages with a short explanation of what it is and why it's worked for the author. For example, if you belong to a writing group, you might tell fellow members about your success on HP and provide a link with your referral tracker. Just inserting the link places and hoping for signups might work once in a blue moon, but it's definitely not as effective.

I would like to add my referal tracker to my hub. So, should I add in my referral tracker  (xxx) after hubpages.com/_xxx or after Age-Well?

Apparently, though I do seem to remember that it can't be inserted into a hub.  Could be wrong about that, though.  If you go to the stats page, then earnings, then referral trackers there is a section to create a new tracker.

I've referred 20 people to HP via trackers.  A total of 5 hubs were created, which have garnered 3500 views over 8 years.  Presumably I've earned a dollar or two off of the 350 views that should have been attributed to me.

No it can't be inserted into a hub.  It can only be used external to the site.

You can't add it internally to the site only outside the site.
