   Why do Women suffer Depression more than Men?
   The answer is because women tend to worry over a matter more than men do...
   Let us take pr-natal and post natal both these period can  be stressful..Women  especially those who are working and has other children it can become very tiring and Women can lapse into a state of depression...
     Women on the other hand are more nurturing and caring and sometimes when these factor in their lives goes wrong they tend to over worry... They would fret and ponder where they fail... As we aged an our Hormones changes this can lead to all sorts of in balances and because we are not educated about these changes we worry.... Sometimes Depression comes because of Medications we are taking... Our some one close to us Die... Nature will tell us that each one of us will in some form experience Depression in our lives... In what form and to what extent we don't!!!

      It's true that women are more likely to be diagnosed with depression, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're more likely to HAVE depression. Given that the suicide rate for men is higher than for women, it's logical to assume that women are just more likely to seek medical help for their depression while men, probably due to stigma, are less likely to go to therapy and therefore go undiagnosed. Men worry too, and men take medication and experience loss and other mental illness-triggering events just as women do.

   I can only answer in evolutionary terms.
   
   They're more vulnerable to the world - biologically speaking. Their frames are more fragile therefore more susceptible to injury.  Carrying a child safely to full term and giving birth is no cake walk either. You might say their nervous systems are more tuned to a child than to themselves so their general experience is going to incorporate lots of stress and worry over child rearing. Lot's more reasons but its perhaps also why they have a higher tolerance for pain - statistically speaking.

   They are soft and their mind as well. They can't even cut the depression easily whether the men can do this easily.

   Also, estrogen is one of the hormones that blunts sympathetic activity (stress response). Middle-aged women who've undergone menopause will no longer have that buffer. The absence of certain hormones in addition to a limited window to conceive (whereas men can leave offspring at any point in their lives) might explain why many single, 40+ women suffer from depression or anxiety or both.  Men just die of heart disease under similar conditions with testosterone. Usually a decade before women.
   
   I take walks at my local cemetery and many of the couples plots have one spot still open for a surviving widow. More widows than widowers out there. So, that' doesn't help either.

   It is not easy living on this planet. Finding ways to live a better life is the key to survival. Nutrition, exercise, the company you keep, and how you manage your life are key to handling the ups and downs. There is no quick fix.
