It used to be that if we dropped all Amazon ads on our hubs/essays/articles and just went with Hubpages ad program, it would increase our overall earnings, so I dropped all my Amazon ads/earnings. Is that still the case? I have three or four hub/articles that would do well promoting a product, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I like the amount I get from my current set up without Amazon, but I wonder if adding even three or four specifically targeted Amazon ads to a few of my articles might generate more monthly income? Or will that instead knock down the other ad earning articles I have with Maven/Hubpages ad revenue earnings? Thank you ahead of time for reading, Ben.
Personally, I have not experienced increased earnings by removing Amazon. I have a few hubs that have Amazon capsules or inline Amazon links on them, and they do make sales, so I believe I earn more with them than without. Don't put three or four on them though, just put one that is very relevant and give a detailed description of the product, how you have personally used it and why you recommend it.
Not sure what you are suggesting but here is something I do know for a fact and I found it out by accident.
By having an amazon product in your article, you open your self to additional earnings even though the item bought on Amazon did not originate from your article or promoted by your article.
Here is what happens.
1. You write an article with an Amazon product link.
2. Someone happens to find your article and reads it.
3. They click on the amazon product just to see the details...
4. They don't buy it but decided to buy something else on Amazon.
5. You still get the credit and the revenue associated with that sell.
This has happened to me on numerous occasions.
My advice is to add an Amazon link to any of your articles that warrants it. This will increase your amazon earnings...
I think you might be referencing when we could use our own Amazon account instead of Hubpages Amazon account -- that option is no longer available
The two ad options are not coupled and having one does not influence the earning capability of the other. Having both would definitely increase your earnings provided the amazon links are related and people actually click through and make a purchase or any kind.
You can add one or ten amazon text links or capsules, but they would be clipped out unless they are very relevant and you add some kind of personal info to go along with them.
I think the idea that dropping your Amazon links would increase your other earnings was one of those myths that spring up from time to time.
Thanks Marisa, if it is a myth, then when I dropped my Amazon ads (many years ago) it was a weird coincidence truly that my revenue went up. Probably just strange timing, glad to hear it now I can revamp my essays.

Last month, and in other recent months, my Amazon earnings are almost twice as much as my Ad Program earnings, yet, every month, I get notices from Hubpages saying that they removed Amazon capsules from my articles. I add them back in and they take them back out, and so the dance continues. I am...

Am I the only one seeing a fairly significant drop in earnings from Sunday, 9/20 to Monday, 9/21? My traffic stayed relatively the same during the same time.

This message is for Matt and the team at HP.Starting May 1st 2020, and all dates following, all my Amazon sales (within the HP earning program) have been recorded as having 0% commission rate. These are not Amazon Fresh items, nor returns. Please can you investigate as this is seriously denting my...

I have been using amazon capsules in my articles for some time but have made almost nothing from them. When I checked my earnings settings to sign up for the new Amazon earnings via Hub Pages, it said my Amazon was inactive! What am I missing here? I have activated the new one,...
