Holy cow! Just looked at one of my articles on pet helpful. The article was smothered in ads on top, middle, bottom, sides; everywhere! No wonder the viewers get off so quickly. It was over the top image, video ads

This has been a recent discussion on the boards and many people are frustrated by the amount of ads.

They are drowning the site. And the management doesn't care.

That may be. Because hubpages is under TAG directive. And they's nothing Hubpages can do in the present situation.

Ongoing debate and speculation in the forums - two years' worth and more!

All the niches are suffering to varying degree for various reasons but the bottom line is Google hates HP.

To sum up: too many ads, too little communication from HP.

      Prognosis: poor.
      Beatles' song: HELP!
Book Title: A Day in the Life of a HP Text Capsule.
      Latin Angle: Repeat Ad nauseam.

I know our articles get lost in them and yet we can't put many amazon ads on our site without 300 words so they keep saying

I just checked my top hub pro article 29 ads and one video same one repeated 7 times. That was just a quick boring look. Who would bother to read it

That is so crazy! What I have found is that HubPages isn't the only site that bombards readers with ads. I've read articles on others sites that are just as guilty.

Chef, I adore your above comment. We can entertain ourselves by communicating with each other on this issue. It is a good way of not getting tense against those HP or, is it the Google, Gods!

I can't even stand to look at my own articles unless I use Author View mode, so I can only imagine how aggravating it must be for the average reader.

And yet people still ask, "why are we losing traffic?" Ummm... hello?

Yes, that's the way I like to view them. Maybe someone will buy Hubpages and turn it around.

Miebakagh, I think what Eugene means is that a company could buy HubPages and drastically modify the page layout to make it more user friendly and pleasing to the eye.

It would be nice if TAG sold off some of its assets, including HP. I think it's mostly concentrating its efforts on the kerfuffle that is Sports Illustrated.

I'm unsure if a new owner could help revive this place considering the issues with Google, but at the moment, a new strategy is needed to bring back traffic, views, earnings, etc.

It wouldn't be so bad if they could be displayed better with proper alignment and not break up text. The scattering and untidy appearance irritates me more than the number. However it technically doesn't appear to be possible to do this.

The option in the Adsense A/C "show ads in between text" should be disabled. It is not our job, however. It is for HP or TAG.

Those ads on AdSense a/c were placed by Google. 2 or 3 are the maximum on a page. Whereas nowadays, hubpages will placed multitudes of ads.
