Traffic on the Weekends

   Does anyone else suffer from drop in traffic on weekend? I think its because most people are off work and go out shopping and socialising more..sorry this question may have been asked before

      yes it is down, and youre right, Fridays and weekends are for families as well, usually people are out, it is spring too, nice weekend Richie!

      Web traffic does tend to decrease on weekends. I have been following this trend by utilizing a spreadsheet that I created for my over 300 articles on eHow. I only mention the number of articles to show where I am drawing my information from .. Monday's are usually the higher traffic days as I get more views and more earnings on Monday ..
      
      I believe this happens because there are still quite a few web surfers who either don't have a computer at home or they have a slow computer, so most of their surfing occurs during the week, at work, on company time ..

         Or maybe it's because you are writing on a how to website, most people do things after work rather than on a weekend.

      I have Hubs that get more traffic over the weekends, and some which clearly do better during the week.

      Hi,
      In the winter traffic was great.  The moment it got nice out my traffic dropped and so did my Adsense revenue.  On Mondays through Thursday I always see an increase to my traffic whether it be Winter or Spring.

   It solely depends on your content. Certain topics get more traffic during the weekday, certain topics get more on the weekends.
   
   Generally, most find that traffic does drop a bit, but it certainly is not always the case!

   My traffic seems to increase over the weekend but I think it is because I have many RV and Camper trailer repair hubs.  It all depends on one's content subjects, I suppose.
   
   I wonder if Google recognizes past success by a writer and indexes their article faster than they normally would?  I published a new hub last night and it is already #8 on the first page when using a generic search for the subject matter.  I am certainly not complaining, just wondering.

   I find Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my slow days. Not that I get a bunch of traffic anyway but those seem to be my slow days.

      Its funny, I left the hubs for a couple of months, and havent written any in a long time , but the 17 I have written, while I ws gone made me some pretty good  money I was like, totally surprised Goes to show I need to write , like a whole bunch more, I think , next week or so I'll establish a regular routine and join the hub challenge

    My hubs also suffer from less viewing on the weekends.  For me, it's a combination of reasons.  My home internet service is super slow and the weekends are when the kids are off so more time is spent with them.  Granted, if my service were better, I'd likely log on at night but then again, by not being able to it forces me to find more 'creative' things to do with my husband.  By virtue of owning my own business, I have to be logged onto the internet at all times therefore allowing me to surf or write when I have free time.

          No, it's not the service, it's the location.  We live out in the country and don't want to pay the high price for Hughes Net.  When we're at work, we're in town and the service is much faster.

                LOL thats good to know , have you checked clear wire for wireless though? there has to be some kind of wireless signal where you are , or maybe not , sometimes with wireless you can get a plan with so many hours per month so it dosnt cost so much, just some thoughts anyway

    I too suffer from a dive during the weekends, although interestingly I only notice this on a monday when I check my profile, I am usually far from my computer come the weekend!!

    On hubpages, I'll often drop somewhere between 5 and 15% on the weekends.  On a site like associatedcontent, I usually see a 30-50% drop on the weekends, but my daily traffic is also much higher.  I write about the same thing on both websites - mainly fitness and mixed martial arts.

    Yes my traffic typically falls by around 20-30% on weekends, my biggest days are almost always tuesday, wednesday, thursday. Although I find that my earnings do not suffer too much on weekends, certainly not as much as my traffic.

    My traffic falls quite a bit.  I think less people are online on weekends.  My biggest days are usually monday-wednesday, then it starts dropping off.

    Spring/Summer - Traffic goes down due to people hanging with friends, going to movies, being with family, etc.
    
    Fall/Winter - Traffic remains steady or goes up due to the cold weather outside, the rain, etc. In other words, people stay indoors and stick to their computers.

    My traffic is usually up on the weekend, but during the week it's up, of course there are fluctuations like any site, but generally they are the same, but I do have a good few art hubs, so maybe some people do hobbies like that anytime, so traffic is always high!

    Every single one of my websites has a drop on the weekends.  In fact, the high volume for them seems to be 9AM EST through 5PM PST.  I think it is people at work or school surfing the web.  Late night and weekends have fewer people.

       Yeah, I got a drop Easter Friday and Monday too.  Holidays, Long weekends, regular weekends and summer are low points for me.
