I was just doing research for a hub I'm working on, and I found another one of my hubs on the same topic ranked number 8 on the page 1 of Yahoo and 20th on page 2 of Google.
So, I'm on page on out of a total of 29,600,000 results on Yahoo, and page 2 out of 9,590,000 results on Google.
I'm stoked about that!
The search term was: "healthy vegetarian children"
The hub: "Raise Healthy Children on a Vegetarian Diet"
Ok, so they're similar, but I never expected to see my hub up so high with so many search results on both search engines.
Congratulations Whitney!! That's an amazing feat. You rock....
That's great! I notice a lot of my Hubs come out like that, as well. It's all in titles and tags. If you type in the full and correct article title, generally it comes out on top.
Here's one of my hubs, for example:
You're right, when you search the exact title it's generally on top. I wasn't searching the exact title, nor was I trying to find the hub in a search. I was doing more research for a similar hub.
Ultimate Hubber, no I don't get much traffic, but I find it a feat, as there are so many search results and my hub is pretty high.
It may not be the most searched term, but it's definitely a large niche apparently.
Must be a large niche. And as for the large number of search results, it is totally a different phenomenon which I also can't figure out.
See the term "nigerian embassy cool" has 2,910,000 on Google. Now I am sure no one on earth would bother searching this and no one will write an article with this title. Anyways forget this and be happy on this and many other achievements of yours on HubPages.
I'd really love it if I have some of your not-so-much-traffic
Ha... Yea I do have some hubs that have little traffic, and others that have wonderful traffic. Sometimes it's a hit and a miss, but I love it.
Congrats!
But do you get a lot of traffic to that hub? because Adwords tool shows the term is not searched at all. But anyways, I will still consider it an achievement and believe that your hub will also rank for some highly searched terms like some of your other hubs do.
I find the same thing, it's all to do with keywords and tags, my doingsixty.com site has been number one on google for the longest time and most of my hubs rank first or second on the first page. Gotta love it, congratulation to everyone who love their rankings.
Wonderful news Whitney, you are an inspiration to all of us.
I was checking on one of my hubs and the same thing happened to me, for the phrase " immigration paralegal" I am the second one listed, pretty cool.
Keep up the good work.
Just taken a look and the closest I come is a Google rank of 6 searching for 'Automate Amazon' with my Hub "How to Automate Amazon Associates Affiliate Links Using RSS and Twitter" Here:

I have been experimenting with Google to find new techniques to drive more search traffic and I found one that is quite silly but has doubled my traffic within about a week of updating my hub. Here it is: THE RATING CAPSULEIt's really quite silly, but I added a rating capsule to the bottom of my...

There have been several theories about what content Google is penalising and rewarding in the search results but at the moment it does seem a bit random (from my end). Let's compare notes and hopefully we can see some common threads in there. What content of yours is holding on to its ranking and...

I published a hub a about three weeks ago, titled: "Defining My Purpose on HubPages: Aftermath of My Wars on HubPages Forums". I've written and published one more hub after that (it's still undergoing the site's quality assessment process) and I'm planning to write more hubs.I...
