Writing Comments for Hubs & Thumbs Up

   I recently wrote a hub on this and have gotten some good responses from it. I was wondering, does anyone have any sort of method that they use for writing comments for hubs? Do you just write comments on hubs that you like? Do you comment on all the hubs that you read? Do you also give a "Thumbs Up" for all the hubs that you like? Just wondering. Let us all know. We can all help each other... right?

      I like to leave feedback on all of the hubs I read unless everyone else has already covered it.  I like to let people know I stopped by, I also give them a thumbs up if it was good.

   If I read, I comment; If I comment - I try to be positive or give at least some positive words, then an opinion; If I feel really moved, I do a thumbs up.  My thought process is this;  All hubs are work; I try to recognize that.  Complicated subjects or feelings and sincere writing is more work.  Thumbs up goes to the one who really moved me or put in a lot of work.  I don't have to agree to be moved, and I don't have to agree to make a comment.
   That's just the way I do it.  I don't think all comments have to be agreement, but criticism can still be positively stated.

   I only comment if I really feel I have something relevant to say.  I try to avoid the "nice hub" comments, and make them worthwhile.
   
   I do give a thumbs up to everything I like, whether I comment or not.  I don't thumb either way if I'm "eh" about a hub.  I rarely thumbs down.  Very rarely.  But have on occasion, and only when I felt really moved to do it.

   I usually leave comments, not always, and I always rate the hubs. I don't think I've given any thumbs down to any hubs.

   I didn't notice the thumbs up and down buttons for a long time, so I didn't do it. Now I have to remind myself to do it when I find a hub I like. I tend to think that every hub has some redeeming value, so I tend to not give a thumbs down. I also only comment if I have something good to say. I used to review musicians and had the same policy. If I thought a band was worth seeing, I would write a positive review. Only once did I slam a band, and that was after they harassed me over and over to write a review, so I gave them what they deserved.

   I usually give a thumbs up to any hub I like.  I comment when I have something to say and that could have nothing to do with whether I like the hub or not.--that is to say whether the hub is well written, informative or whether or not I agree with the points the author is making.  If I  have something to say I comment, if not I don't.....must say some of the comments threads get very interesting and very heated too LOL-- oh yeah, and once in awhile I'll see a google ad that interests me and click on it, go to another site and leave the hub behind. I have the attention span of a flea sometimes:-)

   I give comments to about 85% of the hubs I read.  I am trying to get better about thumbs up for good hubs I read too.  Rarely do I simply give a thumbs up without a comment.  I have yet to give a thumbs down.  But if I read a really bad one that deserved it (or spam, etc.) I would do it.

   I try to comment on a few hubs every day.  Sometimes all I may say is good hub, but I truly mean it when I say that.  I think of myself as a cheerleader in that small sense, plus it is something fun to do when I am at work and things are slow.

   I write a comment (esp. a positive one) when I like the hub ,or if I find it interesting and add some thoughts on the matter.  That goes for the thumbs up too.  I rarely give a thumbs down.  I just find myself moving on to another hub.

    I comment when the hub interests me enough that I just have to say something and give a thumbs up when the hub is informative. I rarely do thumbs down, have once, maybe twice, but usually just move on.

    So far there are lots of different "methods" behind it. Who else does their commenting and thumbing differently?
