    Just joking.

I'm sure that many of you have sat for hours trying to get the SEO right and it just doesn't seem to work.

I've been at that for about 8 hours now. It's 3.05 pm in the afternoon and I think I better have some chocolate for breakfast.

    It's that bad.

I meant to monetize my first hubs today but was too busy working tweaking stuff.

Okay, so now you understand about the fan mail...

    Sympathy?

Oh, yes. I'll sympathize with your hard work if you'll sympathize with mine. And no google visitors!

    smile

A lot of SEO is hit and miss, give it time. You'll see search engine traffic after a few weeks I'm sure, 9 days is not a long time.

You also need to be lucky in some of the topics you choose.

As for fanmail, I don't leave that often now, a lot of people just follow me and don't bother to leave it! I used to leave it to everyone I followed!

      Thankjs, Richie.

Yes, I do think a lot of it is hit and miss. If one is lucky enough to get a topic that people search for, and one has written it with the words that people use to search for it, it works.

I've written hundreds of articles for the web through the years and I've never understood why some get good traffic and others head towards the abyss of nowhere.

But thanks. 9 days isn't long. It just feels long!

There do seem to be people who have high success rates in picking subjects.

I don't, so I just keep throwing stuff at the wall and am happy when some of it sticks. That has worked for me and it lets me write as I please.

Absolutely! Je t'aime, too. I'm trying to figure out the adsense and amazon stuff now. I applied. Was accepted. Now have to  connect it to my hubs. Oh, boy!

I suppose like everything else it's easy once you understand it!

    Hey Sophie,

To connect your Adsense and Amazon to your hubs is only to fill out your "affiliate section" on your statistics page.

Enter in your Adsense publisher's ID in the first spot and your Amazon ID in the place for Amazon. smile

Cagsil, I finally figured it out. It's been a long, long day. At this point, about 10 hours, but I think I broke the back of it.

Thanks for all your help along the way. smile

Fan mail comes on its own, just as followers start joining your ranks because they like what they read.

There is no point in having a long list of followers if they are not going to read your hubs.  Be patient and concentrate the in writing good hubs, the rest comes on its own

      Anath, it was a joke!

      smile

I seriously don't expect people to become my fans just because I ask for them!

In any event, there's no point to anyone reading my work on HP any way as they are not allowed to click on the ads. And if they don't click on the ads, I don't get paid! smile

ditto I second that.  Plus you have all that fan mail to answer.  Before you know it you'll be spending eight hours answering fan mail.  You have to pick your goals!  Best Wishes and Much Success smile

Did you not read the 'just joking' just beneath what I wrote.

In Journalism, it's called a 'Headline." It's designed to draw the reader to reading what the article contained.

Also, I seriously doubt when someone is one's followers that they read what one has written.

At best, they like your style and will refer to it from time to time. No one has the time to read what everybody has written!

Most of the active forum users are serious reader, believe me. they follow to read. smile But there are more spam follower than real follower for sure.

That's interesting. How on earth can one keep up? I read about five or six a day at present, and that's it.

There just isn't time to do more than that. So if someone is following 500 or 600 people, how can they read all that?

They definitely can't.  If they were to try to, then they wouldn't have time to work on their own Hubs.   Balance.  I don't know about you, but I am always trying to achieve it - then I realize I forgot something!  Oh, brother!
