In one of my previous jobs, my manager once asked me "What is your ambition? What is that you want to achieve?"

To be honest, I were sort of dumbstruck. All I knew was that I want to be successful.

I thought over it and now I have concluded that my ambition is to "Be Happy". I realized that this simple ambition includes everything - family, friends, success, money, love, everything.

    What is your ambition btw?

    I don't have any ambition.

My goal is to survive reasonably intact and I believe that this is a biological imperative. Most animals have it.

I make do with what I have and I believe that an attitude of gratitude pretty much makes one happy with whatever one has.

I don't believe it's possible to have everything and I think an awful lot of people are very unhappy with what they've got because it's never occurred to them that they already have an awful lot to be thankful for.

That's why when people face death they come back changed. It's because in that moment they realized what was important.

What's important is simply being grateful for what one already has and valuing all the people around one. Think how terrible it would be to be alone on earth with no one to speak to.

"An attitude of gratitude" - loved this phrase. smile

Well, I believe in all what you said here... we should be contend with what we have and that's the key to be happy, which is my ambition.. big_smile

Still figuring this out myself, but I DO know, I want to:
    1. Be happy.
    2. Be a writer.
    3. Make a difference.

I don't have any rigid ambitions. All I do is make sure I have money and have fun doing it, which keeps me happy.

Hmm... yes, it wouldn't hurt to have a little more money for myself...

I wrote about that recently in a hub I published in dedication to my grandfather.

Before he passed, when I would ask him if needed anything, he would say, "How bout a barrel of fifties..."

Now that's he gone, and I've grown so much, not just from losing him but so many other "things"... I've come to know a barrel of fifties isn't really what matters anymore.

    Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine -

    Elvis Presley

With this definition, I think I'd have to say my ambition is to create.  Usually through writing. smile
