I've only got about 930 hits ever from yahoo search engine - the thing is that well over 200 of those are in the past month.
Obviously that's a good thing, and shows that either yahoo search engine is finding my stuff, or that just more people are now using yahoo search engine.
I'm wondering if anyone knows why that might be, and if anyone else is seeing the same sort of thing?
Nope, I've gotten thousands of Yahoo searches on my most trafficked hubs, as well as, more Bing traffic lately too.
Morning, Sir! How's the heat treating you?
I'm convinced I'm just doing it wrong! That's okay, I'm going to keep doing it until it works!
Not too bad, WTS. Actually, I'm in Negril Jamaica on vacation/ work holiday so I have no idea how hot it is in Georgia. I usually have time check in here at HP when the inevitable afternoon thundershower runs me off of the beach.
But happy hour is still in effect so off I go.
LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice, Sir! Someday I'll figure out how you do those little beer drinking snakes!
I have seen a slight increase in Yahoo (and Bing) traffic. I also got a massive spike in traffic to one of my hubs from Yahoo a couple of years ago, but 200 wouldn't seem to be the same (when I say massive I mean massive - approx 100,000 in a day or something ridiculous!).
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEW! I'm still gunning for the 100,000 views total thing. . . .getting closer.
My Bing and Yahoo traffic were rising before the Panda change. It was staying steady until the sub-domain switch at the lower level.
My Google has begun to finally rise again, but Bing still only has about 1/5 of my hubs re-indexed, where Google,Yahoo and AOL have re-indexed all my hubs.
Hey Michael, how do you find out if a search engine has your hubs indexed or not?
You can type in "site:username.hubpages.com" Insert your own name of course for the username.
I have checked this with Google, Yahoo, Bing and AOL. It will list your hubs they have indexed. You may also find your profile page and other Hubpages activity you have been a part of.
Hey thanks for that tip Micheal.I made the subdomain switch 3 days ago. After just checking the 4 search engines you listed i see only google have re-indexed my hubs so far.
You are welcome. Someone posted how to check this in another thread last week. It is faster than pasting your links in the search engine. lol
I have 28 hubs, get 5 to 10 views a day, and less than one penny ad income per day (one month - about 20 cents). Seems I'm missing something. . .what can I do to turn it around?
I haven't looked at your hubs, so no idea if I am way off base or not, but you need to write to attract search engine traffic. No matter what you write about, you need to find out the terms most people use to find that topic, and write around those words. This is basic SEO - which stands of search engine optimization. It's a huge topic, so if you Google it you will see millions of results.
The first thing I would do is check your titles. Put the main words in to the Google Keyword Tool, and see if people are searching for those terms.
If not, change your title to include words they are searching for.
That is a start. Too big a subject sorry, hope that helped.
helps a lot, thanks!
I usually write about whatever suits my fancy, but lately I have begun to collect hot keywords (using Google's Keyword Tool) which are being searched for but don't have high competition. I have about 100 so far. Once I collect another couple hundred more, I will see what I can do with them. In other words, write hubs (and titles) with those keywords in mind.
Going to look at my titles now - thanks IzzyM ) Euro
I'll have a look at your hubs - and see if I can see something to assist you with.
I've only got 21 hubs, so I won't have as much traffic as someone with a large number of hubs. I got 55 over a 12 hour period from going to bed last night. I have gotten a spike since I was nominatetd for a hubnugget. Ironically, although I can tell by the number of views I'm getting that people are indeed reading the nominated hub, my friends have emailed me privately to congratulate me and I get few comments on that hub. Meanwhile, I am getting a lot of comments from my most recent hub as well as my hubs on animal welfare-my poem about my cat and my article on those who shouldn't own pets-neither of which were nominated. Interesting. I have gotten a lot of new followers out of this nomination
WOW! I've never been nominated for a single thing. Of course I know that I'm rather controversial about lots of things.
The more followers you get translates typically into more tweets and FB likes - and that translates into more money, which is the best thing about all of this.
I might write hubs because I want to. . . .but I need the money, and that's my main motivation.
So Great job - and keep at it till you make adsense payout daily. People here have made $100.00/day before here, you know.
by the way, outside of hubpages the largest source of traffic for me is
http://florabreenrobison.hubpages.com which I include on the bottom of posts to the yahoogroups to which I belong-primarily my Vintage mysteries group as I write a lot about mystery authors. I have about 150 views from their since the switch to the subdomain. others are small numbers
AWESOME. I might have to look into a yahoo group. I don't know what, but I didn't even know that I could do that!

I noticed that 98% of my hub organic traffic is from google, why not from other search engines, specifically yahoo search engine and bing?

I now have 11 hubs that are not indexed by google - nothing published since July 12 (the last one was published on the 9th and indexed yesterday). Normally I've seen then set up with 24 hours, occasionally in 48, but now it's 8 days and not done!!??

Ok this is probably a stupid question but here goes....I know all about the google keyword tool etc. Maybe not ALL about it but I use it for keyword research. And I assume that the results are the for google search engine only.So if I want to rank well on yahoo, bing etc how to I research all of...

In the past few days my traffic had dropped to 1/3 of what it was. Most of it lost from Google. Besides the latest Panda update, which helped some and hurt others, I am wondering if a change that HubPages just made had had a negative effect...Ten of my hubs that were idle (not featured) have...

Most of my traffic from search engine used to come from Google. However, over the past month, my Hubs are getting more hits from Bing and Yahoo instead. In doing SEO research, I generally try to play to Google, so I'm uncertain concerning the reasons for this change in statistics. Does anyone else...
