British crown for their violent, and treasonous rebellion?
Very interesting. Is that a legit old poster there?
The opportunity to fight a tyrannical government. And 50 acres of land to boot (if one lived to occupy those 50 acres I guess..).
Looks like a decent plan to me.
And the descendants of Great Britain, unlike other tyrants, has finally figuratively acquired the proper humility about how they had to "let (their) people go". Amen.
No apologies required then or now.
You do realize which side was recruiting here right?
I might've read it wrong....
Bummer. Ya mean the "Tea Party" advocates weren't offered 50 acres of land??
It figures. They must've had a very good reason for acting against tyranny then. Something called freedom.
They were given many more acres. Of course they had to massacre the Indians occupying the acres, then have their slaves plow and plant the acres, so it wasn't all grog and crumpets for the patriots.
I don't think the Indians were as tolerant of immigrants running from tyrants as we are now in America......do ya think?
they were very tolerant... saved many a colonists hide in the new world.. until Europeans started pushing them towards California
Contrary to popular belief the indians were not all peaceful lil hippies smoking in the woods and loving one another. They had their own wars and conflicts, and they helped the new comers as needed to secure the new-comers help against their own enemies.
It was not so simple as we came and over-crowded them, or there would have never been a problem.
Just not that simple at all.
i never said they were hippies.. just that they acted in their own self interest.. and not simply savages bent on killing the while man
Too many picture them as tribal savages without the common sense that all man has... never mind seeing them as men, and knowing they possessed the same capabilities and intellects and capacities for love and war as us.
The same delusion too many suffer from with islam and it terrorists. they think of them as in caves and stupid... they are niether living in caves nor stupid.
hippies, Kenyans, leant-leftists...all pretty much expendable...
Amazing what they accomplished with single-shot muzzle loaders...
Damn that was almost painless... you are welcome, greek.
Hell if it is that easy and fun I should apologize to everyone mad at me...
Screw all the Leftists.
You're welcome everyone
Darn right. That tea thing was over the top and required a response.
Who'd have known the British would react so poorly to a simple party? And the Canadians? After we did all the work, they couldn't even accept our gracious offer to let them join our union.
Sorry, but Canadians are not into the destruction of property (accept during a well organized Stanly Cup-related riot, of course)
Plus tea parties are boring.. if you called it a beer party, that would have been another thing
Of course! Anyone who fights back from brutal military control is an insurgent.
For those who want to take the extra steps towards reconciliation, here is a club you can join..

"Tony and Julia want to turn this country into an insular, isolated, boat-rejecting, immigration-slashing, closed-bordered, closed-minded bastion of fortified rackkoffff-ness, and I think that's an excellent thing. I'm fully behind them, if only to keep out the Canadians. I've got no problem...
