I understand the clicking part of eBay earnings. But how do I know how much that I will be paid for the sales revenue from winning bids? I have read the relevant page of earnings, which doesn't really tell me clearly, although it does imply that I get 40% of ebay revenue? However no figure for this seems to have been added to my overall earnings for last month?
Just google "ebay fees calculator" to get an estimate of how much revenue eBay will receive for an item sold at a particular price. You will generally receive about 40% of that value, although I've seen it fluctuate wildly month-to-month. It could be 30%, or it could be 60%.

I am wondering why it isn't added to my overall total for HP earnings and why there is no figure from HP? Maybe this will happen in due course. The eBay affiliate is new and they maybe haven't sorted out that aspect yet. But I am hoping that I will get the revenue money added to my Hub Ads and eBay click money and paid next month.

I get the clicks bit, but one day I happened to notice under a hub stat that I had made a sale on that particular hub. It gave the value of the sale and a commission figure for me.
Only it was never added to my HP earnings account, and I wondered about that.
Ditto here. This is the first I've worked with eBay, and have made a grand total of 3 sales so far. All small, but at least one was large enough I should have seen something in income if we are to be paid for sales as well as clicks.
Or does that sale merely increase the value of clicks for a time? I simply don't understand yet how the whole eBay thing works.
I thought that the eBay sales money might be added after the month was over, but there's nothing yet. I am hoping that a staff member will answer this query on Monday. There is info on setting up eBay on HP, but very little info about what happens once it is up and running.
I also got some eBay revenue reported on my other account, which would be equivalent to more than a year's HubAds earnings since that account hardly earns anything.
This sale happened on November 19th. I have not had a single penny from it credited to my account. As far as I can make out from the rather incomprehensible statement appearing over the report, it seems that HubPages will grab all the revenue for itself if the sale happens during its 40% of the time.
I do not think it would be so difficult to split all revenue 60:40. As it is, we have no means of knowing whether our "share" of eBay exposure will ever bring anything more than a measly penny here and there.
WA, are you sure we get paid for sales at all? Or does eBay operate totally differently than Amazon.
I started to go through their earnings plan and got just far enough to get the idea that only clicks pay, not sales. Sales may increase the value of clicks, but we don't earn from them.
I got called away, however, and never did finish reading that section of eBay. Not a total loss, as it is difficult to decipher and understand anyway. It read as some claim HP's TOS does - eBay simply pays whatever they feel like that day.
Can someone that has used eBay for a while explain this?
Maybe HP wait until eBay have confirmed the sales and paid out before they add it onto your total?
I saw that HP have moved the payout date to the 28th of each month now, because they say they want to get the Amazon money and eBay money first, before they payout.
Just speculating. I think I'll email HP tomorrow if I hear nothing on this thread.
I have made quite a few sales on eBay and had been wondering about this. I kust assumed we didn't earn anything for sales, it was just clicks. Hope I'm wrong!

You do not get paid for sales with eBay - eBay calculates an 'earnings per click' - this is based on total sales, new ebay members and your account history. Generally the more you sell the more the EPC will rise. It tends to fluctuate a fair bit though.
From my experience with both eBay and now Hubpages it seems the EPC stays steadier when you have a constant stream of eBay sales - if you have a 'huge' day where you make a lot of sales there doesn't seem to be a huge increase in EPC - but if you consistently makes a few sales a day then the EPC rises.
There is no direct correalation between sales you make and your earnings - eBay keep the 'formula' secret...
Thats a shame, though what I suspected. Why does it give us an eBay sales revenue figure then? I had a quick look and since the start of the ebay programme my sales revenue is far higher than what I have earned from clicks and EPC. Seems a little unfair to say this is how much profit ebay make, but you can't have any!
HP provide this as it's similar to the information that eBay gives you - some Hubbers wanted to have the ability to see where their eBay sales were coming from so they could change their eBay strategy.
If you are an affiliate of eBay you can download a report very similar to the one HP provides - it shows the URL where the item was bought - the revenue and the total cost.
Some hubbers also didn't want to lose the information they were used to seeing...
FYI: HP did get back to me. They have put a new entry in the FAQ. The situation is as Simey said. (eBay is different system to Amazon - you get paid according to clicks and the value of each click is calculated by eBay using your sales.)

Someone told me that she purchased products from Amazon via my hubs last week. This is not showing up on my affiliate account - not even any clicks! Why?? She said she got an email from Amazon that the items have been shipped already. I used the Amazon capsule to display the items on my hubs.

Why am I seeing earnings from Ebay without any sales?I have added a very few amount of Ebay capsules in my hubs (as low as 3-4). Two days in a row I saw small amounts of earnings from Ebay, but not in Ebay sales reports. Is this occurring from impressions on Ebay capsules? Or clicks on capsules?
