I understand that if someone visits one of my hubs and I have a link to where they can sign up and start writing that I'll get paid for it too.
My question is how do I create this link? I've read the FAQ and I'm still soooo confused it isn't even funny.
OK-I think I've got it figured out... I did http:// hubpages.com/ MY REFERRAL NUMBER/ tour/ hubpages/
How can I see if i did this right??
Not quite. You should have an underscore right before your referral code. You can click the green help button on this page:
https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/trackers
To test, try the link yourself. If you hit an error page, your link has a mistake in it. If it very quickly redirects to the same page without your referral tracker in it, then you've done it right.
Is this something you participate in yourself Jason. And do you have many people sign up via your link?
Jason is a staff member. However he does have a tracker on one of his profiles.
If you're looking for extra cash, referrals aren't the way to go. I have hundreds and probably less than 10% have ever published a hub, let alone more than 10. I only have one referral I'd count as "highly successful".
Hi Jason,
Thanks for the tip. This is a very useful forum. I am configuring my tracker just today.
OK-Thanks Jason...
I added in the underscore before my referral code and then tried the link and it took me right to the tour page... I just hope I'll capture any people who sign up. lol
Appreciate it MUCH!!
You can also check that your tracker is activating correctly by going to https://hubpages.com/tracker
I take it that once you set up a sign up link, then it will show up in the tracker page, is that correct? Or do you have to go in and set it up?
My tracker is active, but I can't post that bit of code as a hyperlink into my profile page. I'd like to know how to do this too!
Edit the profile, and remember to save the edits before exiting the screen.
1. Copy the sign-up URL that includes the tracker code
2. Type the text as you want it to appear (e.g. "Join HubPages here"). Highlight that.
3. Click on the chain-link icon
4. Paste in the sign-up URL in the box that appears
5. Click save.
My problem is with step 1. I can't find "the signup URL that includes the tracker code" to copy. Just the tracker code? Is there a format? Because inserting the tracker code into user/new isn't working.
Check this out:

The tracker link will not direct you to the sign-up page when you are logged into HubPages. Existing members who are logged in cannot sign up for a new account.
Got it working. I got an error message initially because there was a wayward space in the URL where I had cut and pasted in the referral link. (Insert expletive). Now it works THANKS web examiner.

I've had a few people sign up under my trackers when I send out emails of my hubs, but I was wondering what some of the rest of you have done as far as setting up a more unique way to have friends and family sign up here at hubpages? For some strange reason I don't think my profile link for sign...

I've read the FAQ, darkside's hubs, and several forum threads and didn't see an answer to this.If somebody lands on one of my hubs via a Google search, for example, and thinks "WTF is this cr*p? I could do better!" or (hopefully!) "Wow, this is so awesome - I want to join this site...

I have a couple of people who want to join hubpages. I went to my profile page and scrolled to the bottom. I clicked referral tracker and copied and pasted it onto my profile page, with the message, "If you'd like to join HP, click here."Is that right? So if someone clicks that link, I'll...

Do you know who you signed up under, if anyone, when you first joined Hubpages?Since people can earn money by referrals, as a point of interest, is there a way to find out who we signed up under? If you know the person, have they assisted you in any way?

I have at least 5 referral trackers for those who wish to sign up.I have a total of 25 sign ups. This is good. However, those who have signed up are not blogging, or there is no traffic. Are these people ghosts? What is the sense of having these trackers, and someone signs up and doesn't participate...
