I got the following rejection from AdSense: When they are referring to site, is that the publication? I don't have a website, do I need one in order to make money doing this? I do have a blog that's been functioning since 2008, will that work? Their cryptic message has left me scratching my head. Can anyone help me navigate this new terrain.
Insufficient content: To be considered for AdSense, your site must contain
enough text content for our specialists to review and for our crawlers to
identify relevant ads to show on your pages. We recommend including more
complete sentences and paragraphs on your site. We require websites to be
fully launched and functioning, allowing users to navigate throughout your
site with a menu, sitemap, or appropriate links. Once the majority of your
site is complete and functional, we'll be happy to reconsider your
application.
You need to use your blog, or you profile here. To be accepted there needs to be a decent amount of content (e.g. 10 good hubs).
Thanks so much for this. On my "to do" list I had the question, "How many hubs should I publish before I apply for Google Adsense?" Now I have something to shoot for. I am guessing that 10 good hubs means what 10 hubs that meet Google's standards. I might do 12 or 14 before I apply, just in case.
Ok, so it's probably to early for me to worry about this since I've only posted 1 hub in the two day's since I've joined. Guess I'm getting ahead of myself. Thanks for the feedback.
If you already have a blog that is active you can get permission via that site, and use it here.
Yes, set up the adsense for your blog, then use your publication ID here for it.
If your blog has content and can be crawled, you should be in good shape.
Good news... I received an e-mail saying they are reviewing my blog. Even though I've had my blog since 2008 I don't have much on there, some family photos and time line of family events and no one is following it. I'm afraid that this might not be what they are looking for and still reject my application. Can anyone suggest what kind of information I should be sharing on the blog to help with the process. Can I publish my hubs there as well? I also have a couple of essay's that have been published, can I put those on my blog?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
Wait and see if you have an issue first. If they approve you, then you are all good. If they reject you, you probably just need to add content. Google is fairly agnostic in terms of the topics you choose, but they are very concerned with quality and quantity of content. Basically they are trying to protect their advertisers from anything that could be considered a low quality advertising platform.
That said, I would publish what interests you but in context. Try and zero in on a theme for your blog. It is tough to get followers if you are all over the place. The reason HubPages works well is because you can publish anything about anything. Your blog should be more directed than that.
Finally, I would ultimately defer to others on republishing your hubs. I do know that I republished some articles I had written previously and they were rejected for duplicate content, so that would suggest that HubPages does not want Hubs published elsewhere (although you do retain ownership and republishing rights.) I am sure that is covered in the HP T’s & C’s but I am a man, so reading through all of the instructions is not my strength.
Hope this helps.
It is so refreshing to hear a man admit to his short comings Ha Ha. Thanks, you've been very helpful. Starting something new is always challenging, almost as challenging as creating an interesting blog.
Again, thanks for your help.
Yes, we all need to understand our limitations. I'm glad it was helpful.

I'd appreciate any advice for my problem: I was rejected by the Adsense program. They tell me the reason is "insufficient content." It feels odd to me, since I have 30 featured Hubs; from the research I've done, this seems like it would be more than enough. Perhaps my newness here is also...
