I guess many of us come up with an idea or ideas by inspiration. What's your inspiration?

My inspiration or niche, or whatever people are calling it these days is movie reviews.  I love watching movies because they are redeeming, entertaining, and intellectual.  If a movie does not meet this criteria, I do not like it.  Following this philosophy, i then write on the movies.

I have the urge to write and most often my own experiences in life,my education, my family, my struggles and success, my philosophies and everything along the lines of personal experiences and experiments I did are the ones that trigger and inspire me to write.

I am inspired by the gap in thoughts we create tailing the buildings of emptiness with vacancies- I love to write because I am a lover by nature, and find humility through contributing to the perception-connection of the retina of a reader and the brain of a lover.  Without communication, the unknown may never be chartered vigorously by any man or woman seeking knowledge.

I like to hear the sound of my own words.  Of course, money helps soothe the savage critic! yikes

The things I like doing inspire my factual writing. Telling stories and describing things, inspires my fiction. I spent a lot of my childhood days reading books,so that may have tipped the balance,to make me want to write now.

There you go! I'd never known some of your inspiration if I didn't ask such question. Sometimes, we don't know  what's driving us to write, we tend to be unaware or unconscious. Knowing exactly what it is helps us write more from our heart. Thanks!

I mostly write about topics that I am interested in or have good knowledge of. I have made some of my poetry into hubs but prefer to write information or factual hubs.
Other people's hubs inspire me sometimes, as do comments from my readers

Thanks for the input Elderberry. Yes, comments from other hubbers would inspire us to write and keep us writing for more!

The stuff just keeps bubbling up.  The weirdest stuff happens to me and I store it away somewhere at the back of my brain.  Sometime later, it just appears on the page, sometimes in something completely different, which goes on to alter the piece.  For example, having been commissioned to write an excruciating piece on the fabric Gingham, (the research for this was actually much more interesting than I first thought), I found myself writing with a odd, rather ranting monologue involving my dual hatred of school uniforms and Howard Keele.  The piece was an immediate success, even though it was not strictly what the editors had in mind.  They did say make it interesting though and they were sniggering as they gave me the assignment.  Just goes to show, being forced to wear a home made, ill-fitting, fat profile inducing uniform, for 5 years, enabled me to produce a credible piece and I didn't have to waste money on therapy.  And as for Howard Keele, well there really is no excusing him. smile

You must have the talent to write. You'd indeed write more interesting stuff for everybody's additional knowledge. Thanks.

I am a tutor, and since I'll be running out of time in the next couple of years I wanted to make a really fantastic online resource for the students that I aren't able to take. I've also been meaning to do it for a while, so I hope I can spread the word to my targeted audience and get them to read along too!

I've had some issues with inspiration as of late. For some reason, my heart just hasn't been in it recently.

Normally, my urge to share my knowledge is what inspires me. But I think with the recent drop in traffic, it doesn't feel like I'm sharing! lol. Such is life.

My inspiration shall return, I hope...

I only write what the voices inside my head tell me to. hmm

No, seriously... Music is by biggest inspiration when it comes to writing fiction. Meeting people who are very different from me, with problems I've never had, makes me put myself in their shoes, and a story begins to unfold. And last, my other source of inspiration is reading the work of great HP writers. It makes me want to push myself further.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about what your inspiration is in writing. Those are truly an inspiration to me already to write more hubs. I just need to decide what great hub to write on for everyone.

You can't please them all, Ken. You just have to pick your favorite subjects and write on that. You'll eventually get a following of people who love the same things you do. I try to stay within the themes of spirituality, education, music career, and my own fiction and biographical stories. I'm sure I'd be making more money writing tips on how to avoid hair loss, but that's just not what I signed up to do. There's nothing wrong with making profitable hubs, but it's just not my topic.

I don't want to come across as "all altruistic and lofty", by any means; because I want/need to earn money from my writing and indulge in whatever version of "creative instinct" I may have; but the main thing behind a lot of my motives for writing is often to try to "deflate" some of the contempt, disdain, or hate that some people have for other people; and only because they don't understand very well others who think differently than they do, or who have reasons for thinking/doing something that they don't understand because they haven't been in one or another situation.

So, since I hate to waste perfectly a perfectly good Internet, some perfectly good writing skills, and/or some perfectly good decades of coming to understand at least some things more now than I may have at an earlier time in my life (before having some experiences that the majority of people won't have the "benefit" of learning from); one of the things that gets me writing is seeing the need to speak up on behalf of someone (or a group of "someone's) who I think need someone to speak up for them (and maybe try to reduce some of the hostility I sense going in their direction).

Sometimes writing is used as art.  Sometimes it's used as a way or making money.   For me, the main  "inspiration" (at least for a lot of the stuff I write for myself) is nothing more than communication.

I see your intention in writing. Writing could be for any purposes so long as you write an article yourself with much effort that you put into it. Thanks for the reply Lisa.

Good evening Mister Ken Blair.  I write every day at least a page of events and things that are important in my life. I do not force my brain to come up with an article. I wait until I get the call. In other words, I get my email that said time to write one of your beautiful articles. Sometimes my brain repeatedly tells me the same subject. I can not get it out of my head. Until I write the article. I wish a good night sleep. That it helps too. Fresh brain works better.
