Free Commercial Images
Many of us have looked for free stock photos at some point. Even though I take some of my own photos, there is always something else I need or something I simply cannot take a photo of. These are the times that we look for great stock photos. I have found many that are great but that also have a cost with them. And that is exactly what this hub is going to avoid. Let's avoid spending money to make some money. Someday, when we have thousands of impressions each and every day - we will spend money on images. Until then, let me show you three of my favorite sites for free stock photos - even better they are free stock photos for commercial use. And that last part is what matters if you are making money online and using those images in your articles. The three sites I am going to mention all have some very good qualities in common. The photo's on the sites are free stock photos for commercial use - some of them you do need to use an advanced search option for. Between all the sites there is a very nice variety, even within them there is some good variety. And one of the best characteristics of these sites is that they are free to use even for commercial use. When someone is writing it is nice to be able to have a couple resources that are free and of quality. I hope that these free stock photo sites help you with your writing.

Free Stock Photos for Commercial Use: Flickr
At the moment, my favorite site for free stock photos is Flickr. This is a site that has so many users that upload images all the time that the variety is pretty amazing. Type in a search phrase and when the results page comes up click on the "Advanced Search" link just below where it says "Full Text | Tags Only" and at the bottom of the page you will see a check button says, "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content." Check the top and second box, the third one is simply if you will be changing the image. Which I generally will never do for an article, unless it is for an Adobe Photoshop tutorial. If you click on the image it will enlarge and you can see the boxes I checked better. Now when you hit search it will bring up only the images that are free stock photos for commercial use. The only catch here is that the photography will have some stipulations. Almost always, the only stipulation is that you give them credit to them. Everyone seems to love cats on the internet so I did a search for "Cute Cat" that was a free stock image that can be used for commercial content and had 13,375 images available. This is a great site for free stock photos, give it a try and I am sure you will find images that will be great for you next article.

Public Domain Photos
Free Stock Photos: Last but not least
Public domain photos is another good site for free stock photos. This site limits itself to 5,000 free photos and 8,000 free clip-arts. Not the biggest selection, but it is a nice collection with some good variety. There are also a lot of photos that are white backgrounds, which can be a very nice feature especially when writing for a commercial site like hubpages. A lot of the images from public domain photos do seem to be focused on a North America location. Which is not bad for me, but just giving a heads up to non-United States writers.
Legally use stock photos
I write about the things I see, from an image I physically see or something I am visualizing in my head. Stock photos are something that gives me a way to relate poetry to others on another level besides just my words, emphasis a point, foreshadow, and many more things. I hope that these three sites help you while searching for free stock photos. A very important key to writing is to make sure the licensing on images that you use are allowed for commercial use. And if you make money in any form from the writing you used the image for - it is considered a commercial article.
