how to earn money with an interesting hub on

Updated on September 16, 2012

what do I know?

Well you may answer this with "not very much" given I have only been here for over 2 weeks however is great in that you are not restricted as to when and where or what and how long. Hubpages gives you the canvas to create as and when you feel you can.

I found my first week on hubpages a lot of fun. There is just so much helpful advice here which means there is no such thing as a silly question. Many a query I have had answered simply by browsing the learning center. There are also so many helpful people willing to comment or support you with any queries as you navigate the world of hubbing!

After my first week and my first 10 hubs I realised this site was going to provide me with a great outlet which often is left blocked. I can freely write what is in my mind or what has influenced me today, yesterday or in years gone by. My experience as a writer on has become one where it is safe to test new waters and give it a go! The fear factor does not rear its ugly head. If you write something and it just doesn't click with the readers you can always remove it. In addition my hubs have allowed me to express some feelings and experiences which are a darn site harder to voice to friends or family.

Hubbing has also enabled me to get on virtual paper what I have been meaning to write about for so long. The structure of the hub also enables a chunking down of the subject matter allowing you to break into different hubs topics which may belong as one hub however will read so much better individually. Knowing when to make the hub short, sharp and to the point, versus though provoking, deep and meaningful are also options you can avail of depending upon your mood and what is front of mind.

Your subject matter doesn't have to be topical or current as so many hubs are full of content which can be read time and time again and still feel fresh and relevant to the reader.

With all of this in mind accessing the brain cells and pulling the rabbit out of the hat every day can still be a challenge yet more often than not, just jotting down thoughts throughout the day as ideas come to the front of my mind provides an excellent starting point for being creative.

As the hubs grow in number you will also see your readership increase and this is a great motivator to keep putting really great material out there. With Hubpages you know the only person you represent is yourself and your creations within your hubs so there is a drive and motivation to make each new hub as good , if not better than the previous one.

As I rapidly approach my 20th hub I can hand on heart say it is like therapy having a regular routine which involves being on this site and filling my hub with hubtivity! (I have also been able to create a few new words in the land of hubbing, mostly involving a minmum of three letters - H U B.

if you are setting out on hubpages you may think I can't really know too much about hubpages and you may be right however what I have seen from my page views, reading other hubs and the trends emerging on my earnings tracker, I can sense I have made the right decision fitting hubpages into my life.

It will take time and sustaining motivation levels to keep the pace going however I personally feel better after I publish any hub I have created. Not because I am watching the number get closer to 30, but because I am using my skillset. I did always have sporadic opportunity to use these skills however usually to deliver for clients or corporations. Now I am in charge of my writing agenda and this feels a hang of a lot better than being told when I can write about what.

Yes this outlet will enhance the work I do outwith hubpages and this can only be a benefit, yet the work I do outside hubpages and the life I lead will also provide me with ongoing material to keep my hubs creative, alive and interesting (I hope!).

If you find yourself sitting at the computer, logged into, with a blank template hub, simple close it down and come back later or tomorrow or the next day but in the meantime take note and be observant of the people and things around you and how they, without you truly realising it, will soon be the fruit of your labour on hubpages.

On the last point there I would not regard time on hubpages as labour though, it is becoming my guilty pleasure.

Good luck with your hub creations
