Immature Entrepreneur Lensography
I'm Alan Reeves, and you're not.
Hello, cyber stalkers. My name is Alan Reeves (aka the "Immature Entrepreneur") and I am here to change the world. And in this case, write lenses.
In this article, I'll share some of my personal deets (how the cool say "details") and provide you with some insight into what makes me tick. If I can't come up with anything, we can always check with my therapist.
Let's jump right in. C'mon, the water's cool.
Welcome to my lensography. $5 dollars, please. (Sike.)
Where it all began
The hospital. (Or technically, in the back seat of some rusted out old 70s car I suspect.)
I was born in Kansas City and have lived my entire life here in the metro area. They say never say never, but I doubt I will ever leave. KC is home and I love it here.
My mom gave birth to me. Pretty sure my dad helped. Thanks for that, guys. I'm the oldest of 3 kids and I have 1 younger brother and 1 younger sister. I am the prettiest. And the most modest.
Without a doubt, I am a child of the 80s. I love 80s cartoons and bad 80s movies and if you pay me or I've been drinking you may even witness a spontaneous breakdancing session. I won't hesitate to moonwalk right across your face.
Uh, you're welcome.
The teen years
You'd never know it to look at me, but I grew up in a pretty rough area and went to some not so nice schools. Like, metal-detectors-on-the-doors type schools. I assure you back then I looked much more like Vanilla Ice rather than the guy you see pictured above. (My rapper name was Vanilla Wafer.)
Like any teen, I went through my awkward phase and my rebellious phase. I did a lot of stupid things and took my time growing up. But honestly, I wouldn't take those experiences away because they've helped mold me into the ultra cool guy I am today.
I've still got my Icey side but now I can also function in society. Yay, me!
My life today
Where I'm at right meow.
I'm a big believer in setting goals. If you don't know where you're going, that's exactly where you'll end up. I get up at 2:45am (no, that's not a typo) every morning to work out. I'm typically in the gym 6 days a week and it's a huge part of my life. Creepy, huh? I eat organic because pesticides and chemicals in our foods are causing us all to get cancer. True dat. I don't watch tv except for 2-3 shows I DVR and I spend most of my free time on the net, writing, reading or playing video games. Without a doubt, I definitely work hard but I make time to play hard too. Work to live, don't live to work.
Alan is a big kid. Alan still gets toys for Christmas and his birthday. Alan likes to refer to himself in the third person because it makes people uncomfortable. I am a big mix of contradictions and wouldn't have it any other way. I do not fit into any category and if there was one created to accurately describe me, I would immediately destroy it and quickly change course. I'm anything but normal. Normal means average. Average = suck. Who wants to be full of suck? Not I, said the fly. You can have fun and be a grown up. Really.
I have created a world for myself that I'm very happy with. Of course I'm not done (and probably never will be) building. That's part of the beauty of life. Learn to enjoy the journey and you'll be much more happy along the way until you've reached your destination. Then set a new one and begin the process all over again. Gotta stay hungry.
I love the fact that you never stop learning. I love the fact that I can go into the gym and come out better than I was before. I love the fact that your circumstances in life are a direct result of the decisions you've made, and therefore basically within your control. You can't necessarily control what happens to you but you have complete control over how you react to it. It is a decision.
If you stop and think about it...life is pretty cool. :)
I sell stuff
And you should buy it.
I'm a big believer in having multiple streams of income. While I've never owned any chickens, if I did, I do believe I would be hesitant to put all of their eggs in one basket. Or something.
One of the cool things I do in order to make mo' money is to sell stuff. Stuff is good. Everybody likes stuff.
Click the link below and purchase products from all of the major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dell, Barnes & Noble, etc. and you earn cash back. Get paid to shop. You win. I win. Winner winner chicken dinner. Plus I become assigned as your personal shopping assistant, here to respond to your every whim. (Not really.)
My Kittehs - Athena = grey kitteh (the hugger), Jasmine = orange kitteh (the huggee)
Athena is my firstborn (as my mom refers to me). She was a stray that my brother and his wife found several years ago. When they brought Athena over to my place, she immediately crawled in my lap and made herself at home. I was in love. (That's my metrosexual side coming through. I'm fine with it.) Athena is sort of the mom and takes care of Jasmine. She will literally lick you until she reaches bone. OW her tongue hurts.
Jasmine is kitty number two. I was on a business trip in Wichita and had a little time to kill one evening after work. Normally I won't go to pet stores because it really bothers me seeing the animals locked up in small cages. For some reason that particular night I found myself in Petsmart. I certainly had no intention of bringing home a new roommate. As I walked by the cages and played with the kitties, Jasmine reached both paws through the cage and literally grabbed my face. I knew I had to adopt her. Jasmine is a big baby and whines and cries for me constantly. She has really bad gas and likes to cropdust the room as she walks by. Holy jeez I love her. And she and Athena are totally BFF.
Okay, all that mushy stuff aside--I love my cats, but they need to get jobs. They contribute no income to my household plus they make me clean their poop. Not cool. Oh well, what can you do? I mean, they don't have thumbs so they can't do it.
Sometimes I feel like an archaeologist when I clean out their litter box.
Athena Takes OPC Pet Health
OPC for pets
Athena struggles with allergies and other health challenges. After lots and lots of trial and error, we finally found a product that has really made a huge improvement in her quality of life.
If Athena could high-five me, she totally would. OPC for pets rocks. And rolls.
If you are a pet parent of dogs or cats, you should buy OPC Pet Health for your pets too.
Krypto - The Superdog!
Krypto the Superdog is the newest addition to my home. This little punk is so crazy. Here are some of the personality traits that cause Krypto to rock so hard it can barely be contained:
* Krypto gets so excited about basically anything that he pees
* Krypto doesn't care that the cats hate him and he plays with them anyway
* Krypto thinks that cat turds are, in actuality, delicious Tootsie Rolls the cats bake especially for him
* Krypto will run up to any stranger and totally French kiss them without permission
* Krypto's head is too big for his body
I always considered myself to be a cat person until Krypto came into my life. There are times I want to uppercut him because he's such a kitty terrorist but I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is the toughest dog in the neighborhood, at least when he's inside the house barking through the window. To put it in terms everyone will easily understand, Krypto is a bowlful of awesome sauce. Woof.
Krypto is so cute he'll give you a cavity
Krypto in a rare moment when he's not being a kitty terrorist - But it's coming at any moment...
Krypto the Superdog vs Athena the kitteh - Athena will pwn him.
My Superman Ring - Bling bling!
Do I really wear this giant Superman ring?
Yes. Yes I do. Because that is how I roll. The end.
Things I like
Which, by default, means they're cool.
In no particular order: I like animals. I like money. I like girls. I like teaching people. I like helping people. I like singing. I like to have fun. I like 80s music, R&B and hip hop. I like Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger but I really wish his last name wasn't so difficult to spell.
I also like being positive, meeting new peeps (or as boring people say, "people"), Superman, clothes, toys, video games, Chevy Chase, a good manscaping, the paranormal, Halloween, my website, psychology, boxing, comic books, and bodybuilding.
I like lamp.
Odd Things I Like to Smell
Why? I do not know.
In no particular order of significance, the following is a list of weird scents I enjoy.
* Baby lotion
* Old comic book
* My dog's breath
* My dog's feet
* My dog
* Cocoa butter
* Squished grasshoppers
Buy the things I like - I like this stuff and therefore you should buy it.
I often get asked "why do you use Squidoo?" Well, actually I've never been asked that. But I wish I had so that I could answer. (Just don't ask me where I use Squidoo...)
I use Squidoo for a number of reasons. I'm a big believer in having multiple streams of income (if you have 5 income sources, it doesn't hurt so much when you lose a job). I love to write. I love to be creative. And there's something about Squidoo that creates a wonderful sense of community. It's sort of like my totally hetero man-crush on Sylvester Stallone--you either get it, or you don't.
Ask not what Squidoo can do for you; but rather, ask what you can do for Squidoo. (That rhymed.)
If you want to be cool like me, you should click here to join Squidoo too! (Also rhymed. Booyah! Vanilla Wafer in the house.)
