Nick Upton's Lensography

Updated on May 12, 2013

So, Who Is Nick Upton?

I was born and brought up in Dartford, Kent, England but I have travelled quite a lot and currently I live in Bangkok, Thailand. I go home every year and it is always nice to see familiar faces and places, but living in a foreign country is quite exciting.

I have had careers as a Fingerprint Officer, ESL Teacher, Gardener, Grape Picker and Shelf-stacker but now I work full time on the internet and as a professional birdwatcher.

I first came to Squidoo in mid 2007 just to promote a few websites and blogs but more recently I have put my mind to making more and improved Squidoo lenses.

Here they are;

Before We Begin

Before getting to my lenses I would just like to thank all those who have given advice, encouragement and who have voted, favourited, commented or have bought something from my lenses.

Please comment on this lens and give any suggestions you may have.

Thanks again.

Join The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

I have been a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds since I was about 12 years old. This society has over 1.5 million members and is one of the biggest landowners in the UK. They do an amazing amount of wildlife conservation work, not only on their reserves, but working with private landowners, political lobbying and even overseas conservation projects. The RSPB are one of the most forward-thinking conservation bodies in the world and deserve your support.

Nikon Coolpix 7600

This is the camera I have used to take photos for my websites and Squidoo lenses. It is pretty much idiot proof and produces some nice results, particualrly on macro mode. It has a lot of settings for situations like night, dim light, sunset, action shots etc.

This is an easy-to-use camera which takes decent photos.

My Websites and Blogs

Apart from my Squidoo lenses I have a few websites and blogs; here they are, please take a look at them.

Please let me know what you thought of my lensography and any of the lenses that are listed here. Thanks.

Nice visit. I am an amateur bird watcher having done so from childhood like yourself. I feed the birds in winter and they stay about and eat bugs for me in summer.

I can appreciate many things here (especially your fascination with birds). I can watch them endlessly and they are my favorite photographic subject (not that I think of them as "subjects"). Enjoyed learning more about you.

Great looking lensography, I love Star Wars and used to have a ton of Star Wars Legos, so I particularly enjoyed looking through those.

Hi Nick, your lens showed up in the Discovery module on my lensography at - and since it said you were born in Dartford, and I was born down the road in Gravesend, I had to come take a look! Very interesting and wide variety of subjects you write on. It's amazing where we all end up - I'm in Canada, and many of the people I went to school with are scattered all across the globe.

Thank you for such kind comments. I would love to write a birdwatching book one day, I just have to find myself a niche subject. One day.[in reply to WordCustard]

An enjoyable read. I love your lenses and will come back to view more of them. I also think you should write a book about birdwatching as you have a very engaging writing style as well as the expertise to do so.
