Who Am I?
I'm Tim Bader and I have been playing video games since I was about 10, when I got my first ever computer, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum...
I have played games on various platforms, including Commodore 64, Atari ST and Atari Jaguar (for those who remember them) through to PC, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
I enjoy all kinds of games, not just the popular first person shooters, like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but everything from "platformers", to "hack and slash", to kids games and strategy games.
I enjoy seeking out those games that are slightly different to the rest, are quirky, or which merge different genres together.
More recently I have begun reviewing games on Squidoo (see the links on the right - yes, there's a bit of a pattern there), so when the opportunity to become the Video Game Rockstar Contributor came up, I jumped at the chance!
Who Are You?
I hope that you are as excited about video games as I am, because I want you to contribute too.
Over the coming days, we'll be issuing challenges of all kinds, so get ready with your virtual pens as there will be lots of opportunities to share your unique take on things with the world.
In order to do that, I'd really appreciate it if you could take part in some surveys so I can get an idea of what kind of gamer crowd we have here on Squidoo.
To start things off, lets find out what kind of gamer you are and which platform you use for most of your gaming.
Are you a hardcore, can't wait to get home from work/school, live for games, kind of guy/gal, or are you more of a casual, pick a game up when you fancy it, but could just as easily read a book or watch a movie?
Or maybe you're just a gamer dad (or mum), who only really plays games with the kids?
Let me know by placing your vote below.

What kind of gamer are you?
Survey part 2
For part 2 of our survey, let us know where you spend most of your gaming time.
If you only own a Playstation, then that's easy, but if you own a Playstation and an Xbox, then you may find it more difficult.
Don't think about it too much, just pick the one that you spend the most time on.
If this varies from day to day, or you just can't decide, then just tell us which one you are using right now.
What platform do you do most of your gaming on?
This section is where I'll start posting new quests and links to games content you may be interested in.
Eventually, I hope that this area will move out to its own page, but for the moment, here is a link to your first challenge:
We've had some great articles for our first quest.

Review Your Games Hardware
You've reviewed some games, next we'll have a look at the hardware you run them on.
This month, I want to know about your killer game setup.
Maybe you have just bought a Playstation 4, or a super duper graphics card for your PC.
Or maybe, you have a gamer chair or an amazing set of surround sound headphones.
Whatever it is, I want you to share it with the world by writing a review.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, then join me over there to Review Your Games Hardware!

Video Game Review Guidelines
Believe it or not, video games can be a sensitive subject.
They can be addictive, some people think that video games rot your mind (although the opposite is usually true) and there are game forums around the web full of 'trolls' who like nothing better than to wind up others or start 'flame wars'.
My aim with the Video Game niche is to encourage gamers and non-gamers alike to participate in gaming on Squidoo.
Whether folks are writing reviews, reading them, or taking part in surveys, we want everyone to enjoy being here.
With that in mind, I want to lay down some ground rules for video game niche reviews and comments.
This isn't a 'heavy', really it's just my interpretation of the Squidoo Terms of Service for this specific niche.
- Make sure that you are reviewing the correct game version for the platform you play games on - i.e. If you have the PC version of the game, then use that version from Amazon in your review.
- Remember to point out any benefits specific to your version. For example, if your Playstation version of the game has extra bonus levels then mention them.
- Please refrain from negative or unsubstantiated comments about one hardware system or another (e.g. "Playstation sucks"). Squidoo is a positive platform and we don't want to incite arguments in the comments.
- Keep it 'clean'. There may be children or young adults reading your review.
- Check your spelling and grammar before you publish (video games sites and forums are notorious for being bad at these) - having good spelling is a sign that you are professional and worth reading.
Beyond that - have fun!

Here's where I will call out great articles on games and gaming, for your reading pleasure.
