The Most Helpful Websites Online

Updated on July 11, 2015

Ever Need A Fast Answer Online?

Don't even answer that question. Occasionally, we all need help. Sometimes, there is just no one to call, no one to email, or no one to text - to quickly answer a question. Once in a while, you just need help in a hurry! I would like to have returned to me, all the hours I have spent trying to get an answer online, to a very simple question. Since I have found some extremely helpful websites over the years, I thought I might just pass them along.

Do you want to know if a website is really down, or your computer is merely exhibiting bizarre behavior? How about the diacritical marks that you can use on your keyboard? Want to know how to translate some words into a different language? How about gathering ingredients for a recipe? What time is it, halfway across the world? What do those initials stand for, anyway?

Is the website down for everyone, or just for me?

How To Set "On-Time" Talking Atomic Watch

If you only knew how long it took me, to find the proper instructions, online, for setting this watch. We have a lot of senior citizens, who come into our retail establishment, frustrated to the point of despair - trying to reset the various functions of the "On-Time" Talking Atomic Watch. They don't want to be awakened in the middle of the night with its alarm, or wondering what time it really is, because they don't know how to set the time zone. We accommodate them, and set the watch properly. Then, we take it home with us overnight to make certain that the settings hold, and return the watch to them - no charge. They are always immensely grateful, and that is an understatement! The instructions are from the Independent Living Website but on a link of our own, just in case the other website changes...

How to Set Your "On-Time" Atomic Watch

Should you happen to own one of these watches, and apparently thousands of people do, please refer to the instructions in the link above. Print the document out, and save it. Your frustrations will be over, or at least the frustrations concerning trying to decipher the settings on the "On-Time" Atomic Watch, will end. Forget searching online, it's a nightmare!

You hit most of mine already and others I google when I need them, like "what is my url?" - sometimes that's handy to know and "what domain do I use to send a text to a cell phone from my e-mail?" - At any rate, wonderful compilation you have here! Great job!
