BY A CALM BAY INLET CREEK

Poem Inspired by the Marine Park Salt Marsh Preserve, Brooklyn, New York City, USA

By a calm Inlet creek

where cormorants

and killdeer go

a lone black skimmer breaks

the waters edge

this is where I go

where all is tuned

to the hush of the sea

amid natures insect & avian

grand symphony

the sound is so alive

as it comes from everywhere

where else would you guess

but to find me here.

thanks again for stopping by and the positive feedback. I found spearhead on this beach. i have big story that goes w this poem and hope one day to get it published. on the negative side i was unsuccessful in getting the jet skis banned from this nature preserve but i tread its ground for over 25 yrs as if i was wearing algonquin moccassins, taking it all in in the smallest details.. yeah them bugs are hard to capture alright. i also take 5,10 shots to maybe get one real good one..if im lucky. i have to get down and dirty..less pain that way. almost stepped on cotton mouth while in the glades one day while touring yrs ago.. slowly walking near canal i looked down just in time to see white mouth and fangs staring up at me. didnt get picture as i was too close already and just wanted to get the hell out of that tall grass. im watching out for cobras now here in thailand. if im ever in florida i will look you up.

Gary! This is a Native American song. Let's have a nice fire and dance to it after dinner. The photo is an award winner!
