An Out Of Body Experience

An Out Of Body Experience
During my senior year in high school I was accepted at BereaCollege in Berea, KY where I started a new chapter of my life. The second semester I signed up for a class called "Musical Theatre". I auditioned for the musical South Pacific. I took an instant liking to the teacher. I learned that she lived alone with her poodle and one day after rehearsals I noticed that she was standing in a corner crying. I approached her and asked her what was wrong. Her father had died the week before. She dropped me off at the dorm and on the way I learned that she did some of her graduate work at IndianaUniversity in Bloomington, Indiana. She became a second mother to me and after I graduated from BereaCollege in 1980 I visited her for six weeks in Bloomington as she was taking a year sabbatical. We always had so much to talk about. I became much more interested in the Psychic and Paranormal after college and Janette had no interest in it whatsoever.
I lived in Bloomington for the next six years and complete my graduation work in Education. Janette and I are still in touch and I had a psychic tell me in a reading that there was a woman in my life who loved music. She said that this woman had been my mother in a past life in Italy when we were both involved with opera. That was no surprise as Janette sort of adopted me and I often called her mom. I'd go to her home for weekends and cut her grass and do chores. She would listen to my sad childhood stories and encourage me to move on with my life. I studied opera for five years in college and had aspired for a career in opera at one point. My deep friendship with Janette reminds me that two souls need not be involved in the psychic metaphysical realm for their souls to recognize each other and for there to be a bond.
Like I said earlier most of us are psychic to some extent and have our stories we could share. Another point I'd like to mention about Janette is that although she never believed in the 'psychic realm' she did tell me a story that made me wonder just how complex we all truly are. Part of us, our conscious awareness and self, may have rigid beliefs that 'pooh pooh' anything having to do with the paranormal or the 'psychic', and yet another part of us may have different ideas or experiences. Janette surprised me one day with a little paranormal or story of her own. She was in the hospital to have her tonsils taken out when she was around ten. They gave her too much anesthesia. "I was totally on my way out of here," she told me. "I saw myself going through this tunnel and at the end of the tunnel was the most brilliant white light. I wanted to go towards that light more than anything in the world. I was trying to make myself go when suddenly I heard my father's voice.
"Janet, now you come back to us," he said in his gentle tone. "You know you have to go to school and you have so much to do."
"Come back," he kept repeating. He was driving me nuts because I just wanted to go to the light. Finally something happened and whoosh I was back in the hospital room."
Many of us have read and heard similar stories but this came from my skeptical sweet surrogate mother who wanted nothing to do with the paranormal so I especially cherish it.
