The financial aid office is your friend when learning to apply for scholarships online.  They can help you find lots of information about scholarships online and other financial aid that may be available for college.

Not only that, but the college you attend may offer financial aid itself for which you are eligible.  Also ask the financial aid office about filling out a financial application for student aid form (FAFSA) after you have been accepted into college.

Don't Forget the Pell Grant for Financial Aid for College Expenses

Be sure to see if you qualify for the Pell Grant.  The Pell Grant provides free government money that you can use for tuition, books, and even expenses like rent or gas money.  Chances are if your parents don't claim you as a dependent on their tax forms and you are over 23 years old, you will probably qualify for a Pell Grant.  A Pell Grant can be a lifesaver for college expenses.  Currently it can help with more than $5000 of college expenses.

      Great information! My daughter has been going to our local community college and is graduating this summer. She wants to continue, but it is sooooo expensive! She does get financial aid, but it won't be enough. I am hoping she will get some scholarships for the rest of it. I will check out some of the links you suggested.
