Contribution of Teachers

Contribution of teachers

Quality teaching is the key to quality education. The schools ensure that teachers are qualified to be part of an education system that teaches persons to know, to be, and to live together. Teacher is the heart of the education system. It is not an easy task to commit to quality education for all learners and consider it as an integral part of the efforts to reduce poverty and help ensure a better life. The teacher teaches us respect for the basic rights of children and the creation of decent work opportunities for women.

In the classroom, teacher can be a potent factor in discipline. The impact of his personality such as personal characteristics and his scholastic qualifications upon the students stems from these two aspects.

The teachers possess good habits of neatness and cleanliness. They can be the model for their students. Everybody respects and admires teachers because they are well groomed and healthy. They can develop the same in children if the teacher has good poise.

Teachers are mentally healthy too. They can contribute a lot to the proper emotional development of the children as well as to the atmosphere of the classroom. They are quick in making decisions because they are mentally alert. They use foresight in planning activities. They have insight into the needs, interests and abilities of their pupils.

Teachers are also morally upright. They deal with their students fairly and justly. Teacher is a person of integrity and dignity because he possesses strong will power and confidence.

Teachers have social characteristics. They understand the nature of their students. They have the abilities to deal with others with genuine sympathy and care for the welfare of others. They are friendly, helpful, cheerful and humane.

They also have a wide cultural background. They use it to widen their explanations with pertinent anecdotes, stories or incidents and with a variety of activities. They also care for helping the community. They are full of life and aware about the government issues and they are enthusiastic to be a part of the solutions.

They ought to have all our support and recognition for making achievable the positive outcomes as a result of giving the children the opportunity to enter a classroom to gain basic literacy, numeracy skills, not only for their future but also for the progress of the entire community and the country.

They deserve a momentous token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation for the essential contribution that teachers make to education and development. That’s why we have a World Teacher’s Day to represent that token for teachers. I love that day because” I’m proud to be a Teacher!”
