BE POSITIVE: THINK HAPPY - STAY HAPPY!

Updated on December 29, 2009

We are what we repeatedly think

:: We are what we repeatedly do ::

- Aristotle

You see things and say ‘Why?"
but I dream things that never were and I say "Why not?"
- George Bernard Shaw

Be absolutely determined to enjoy what you do.
- Gerry Sikorski

Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift;
that’s why they call it the present.
- Source Unknown

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
- Leo Buscaglia

§

...It might sound a bit loopy or too simple. But it really works...

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming really interested
in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other
people interested in you. Which is just another way of saying that the
way to make a friend is to be one.”

§

:: LEARN TO LISTEN

...Ernest Hemingway once said:
“I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening
carefully. Most people never listen.”

Don’t be like most people. Don’t just wait eagerly for your turn to
talk. Put your own ego on hold. Learn to really listen to what people
actually are saying.

When you start to really listen, you’ll pick up on loads of potential
paths in the conversation. But avoid yes or no type of questions as
they will not give you much information.

§

:: A matter that becomes clear ceases to concern us.

- Friedrich Nietzsche

The reality of the other person is not in what he reveals to you, but
in what he cannot reveal to you. Therefore, if you would understand
him, listen not to what he says but rather what he does not say.
- Kahlil Gibran

Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow. Delay may give
clearer light as to what is best to be done.
- Aaron Burr

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point
is to discover them.
- Galileo Galilei

You don’t need strength to let go of something. What you really need
is understanding.
- Guy Finley

Everyone hears only what he understands.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

To understand the heart and mind of a person, look not at what he has
already achieved, but at what he aspires to.
- Kahlil Gibran

Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an
understanding of ourselves.
- Carl Jung

§

:: LEARN TO RELAX LIKE A NINJA ::

One of the big problems with a life filled with stress is that it’s
filled with too much stuff to do and think about. Another big problem
with a life filled with stress is perhaps not that it’s filled with
things to do but that a lot of those things are stuff you really don’t
feel like doing. You may feel that it’s just something that you should
do.

:: DO WHAT YOU REALY WANT TO DO ::

Do you really have to do all things in life? Or are some of them just
things you do by habit, not knowing really why you are doing them when
you think about it?

I have found that using the 80/20 rule – also know as the Pareto
Principle – to be effective when trying to figure out what’s important
in your life and what’s not really that important. Basically what the
80/20 rule says is that 20 percent of what you do accounts for 80
percent of the value you receive.

:: PRIORITIZE & SIMPLIFY ::

In your personal life or at work there are a few very important things
that you can do. Try to figure out what’s really important in your
life. What those 20 percent are. Then do as much of that as you can.

Try to figure out what isn’t that important of the remaining 80
percent. Minimize the time and effort it takes or, if possible, remove
it. Then use the new, free time to do more of those really important
things or to try new things.

Thank-You, Mr. MFB III, for your thoughtful and kind comment.

YES! KINDNESS IS LOVE IN ACTION.

YES! Happiness must be shared and we have to be Com-Passionate and care more about other people involved in our life... and to pretend less... and we have to stop being shallow...

      KINDNESS CANNOT BE PASSIVE!

KINDNESS MEANS WE DEEPLY CARE about a person or a cause...

      And Happiness multiplies when shared...

Being kind make you feel complete and happier... and in tune with the Universe... Your Karma... or Energy field [Aura]...

      Namaste.

Happiness is a state of mind, and if we could unite all of our states of mind this country would be a much more enjoyable place. Happiness is meant to be shared, alas to many get stingy with it, which unfortunately creates a backlash of karma in the next life. So if you find happiness spread it around and watch it grow, and you know what, a lot of it will come back to you tenfold. great hub.~~~MFB III
