It all started when in mid-July Tatarstan's chief mufti was gunned down in Kazan. Minutes later, another mufti had been involved in a car bombing that left him injured in the legs. Both men were radical Islamists that supported Salafism, a strict lifestyle under Islam. That is when Russian police raided the normal looking home along the Volga River outside of Kazan.

What they discovered was like was found in the movie, "Silence of the Lambs", an eight story in depth series of cells all underground beneath the facade of a normal looking home. Inside they found 70 devout Islamists. None of the cells or rooms had light, heat or ventilation. Many children were found that had been born there and seldom saw the sun. The kids ranged from age 1 to 17. None had gone to school, seen a doctor, left the property. Police found the kids to be in decent health but dirty. The leader of the sect is 83 yrs. and is a self-claimed prophet that God gave him a vision, which in itself, is a contradiction with the principles of Islam!

Russian police have their hands full in the Volga River area of Kazan whee many Islamic groups have decided to settle in, many seem to think they are prophets also. Yet, Islam clearly states there are no other prophets after Mohammad, who would be a Jesus Christ equivalent in Christian religion.

Like in many religions, there are fringe lunatics.

      Sigh, such a terrible thing...

Somedays I simply wish all Muslims could do a better job to portray the beautiful religion of Islam instead of creating their own religion under Islam's banner.

I wish more people could read the Quran and actually understand the religion instead of just blindly following random strangers.
