What are Binaural Beats?

Auditory processing artifacts, or apparanent sounds, the perception of which arises in the brain for specific physical stimuli (http://www.wikipedia.com). Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered the power of these tones in 1839. Until the late 20th century the theory had no publicity until claims emerged that it could induce relaxation, creativity, and any mental state of choice. The sounds create these mental states by affecting the brainwaves with multiple frequencies. An example would be having a pair of headphones with frequencies in the right at 400Hz and the left 410hz. As a result, low frequency pulsations occur.

In order for the binaural beats to work, the Hz must be under 1,000 and the difference between each ear's frequency must be 30Hz or less. Binaural tones can be played in loudspeaks as well. Studies prove that one will receive more out of these sounds via headphones than loudspeakers. Both will help with receiving desired mental state.

Unverified claims of binaural beats benefits include assistance in stopping smoking, athletic performance, erectile disfunction, and much more. It is proven however frequencies at 7Hz induce relaxation while 15Hz causes alertness. The binaural beat corresponds to delta, theta, alpha, beta, and/or gamma waves in the human brain. Sounds targeting the alpha waves cause relaxation, while beta targeting sounds install alertness. Gamma waves are usually associated with higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness. Theta supports meditation and NREM sleep. Delta gives dreamless sleep and loss body awareness.

Your current mental state is decided by the dominant frequency in the brain. Using specific frequencies can result in hormone production of choice. If targeting theta waves, it can improve learning aand cut sleeping times. It can work wonders with children since they naturally have higher theta waves compared to adults. Alpha-theta brainwave training is associated with quitting addictions.

The Binaural Tone Market

The market is huge right now. So many companies are releasing their own products based on these scientific studies it's hard to choose which to use. As a part of my studies, I used a number of binaural beat products from companies and came to conclusions based on effects I experienced. First I would like to say on my behalf, the claims of mental manipulation are true. My first test was on the insomnia tones because I was recently suffering from this. I feel to sleep with 13 minutes. This insomnia binaural beat came from an Android app called "Binaural Beats Therapy".

I doser Binaural Beats

I-Doser is the most popular company for distributing binaural beats to the public. The list of binaural beats and their effects is very long. Almost every mental state you can think of can be achieved using I-Doser binaural tones. Even your favorite drugs can be done using these audio files. Some include marijuana, cocaine, heroin, psilocyndic shrooms, and steriods.

They offer a free sample for first time users. The software for Windows can be downloaded free from the I-Doser Online Store. Make sure you have the correct headphones for these binaural beats. If not the effects may be limited or may not work at all. Headphones with the purpose of using binaural beats should cover the entire ear. These can be purchased from the I-Doser store or from others, as long as background noise is minimum to none.

It's very interesting, I'm trying to resolve some of my adrenal fatigue problems with binaural therapy, too!

I have never heard of this so it is quite a revelation. What are the implications for healing, mental illness and depression?
