Community Backs Falcon Students at Awards Day

Updated on May 8, 2015

Bryson Lee

Austin Macemore Memorial

Bryson Lee received the Austin Macemore Memorial scholarship, presented by Austin's parents (Wayne and Teena Macemore). Seen here with an appreciative hug, Bryson shows the character worthy of all the scholarships he received.

Huggins

Jon Huggins has become the voice for the awards and graduation ceremonies. His professional approach adds another element to these Forbush events. Just another Falcon doing it the right way.

All total, the Falcon students earned $1,797,156.00 in scholarship money as reported on Friday afternoon in East Bend. This figure represents the total renewable amount that the combined class of 2015 will receive over fours years of college.

Awards Day began promptly at 1:30pm in the Forbush High School gym. The junior marshals led the procession of the senior class as Ms. Trivette and Harrison Whitaker added the music. JROTC presented the colors as everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. Jon Huggins then stepped to podium in front of many family members and community leaders to narrate the long list of recipients as each award was presented.

All students were very deserving and appreciative of the awards received. As each student made his/her way to the stage a feeling of accomplishment was shared between that student and all of the faculty members he/she had come in contact with during the four years at Forbush High School. All the hard work has paid off for these future community leaders.

Thanks to the tremendous amount of support from the local sponsors, colleges and families these students will be able to pursue their dreams. Awards Day is truly representative of what a special place Yadkin County continues to be for the children.

Junior class take note for next year it shall be your turn!
