Cost of living in Canada, Germany, Russia and UK for international students
As you are preparing to go for your study abroad, its very important that you consider the cost of studying and living in the country you wish to pursue your study before so you willknow how much to budget for your study. Cost of living varies from country to country. Some countries have very high cost of living while others is affordable. In this article, we will take a look at the cost of living in four popular study abroad countries, viz; Canada, Germany, Russia and the UK.
Canada is a country in North America. It stretches from the US in the southern part and to the arctic circle in the Northern part. The country is filled with vibrant cities like Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Ottawa being the capital.

The cost of living in Canada is moderate depending on the city. Bigger cities like Toronto, Vancouver, British Columbia etc have a high living expenses. If you school in these cities, you should expect to spend much on your living expenses. The estimated amount a student can survive with in these cities is $800 to $1000 a month. For other smaller cities, a budget of $600 to $800 should be okay. Students who do their cooking will usually spend less as the cost of eating outside in cafeterias is usually high.
Germany also referred to as the Deutschland is situated in Eastern Europe. The country has terrains of vast forest, mountain ranges and rivers and iconic Brandenburg gate.

Living cost in Germany is quite affordable compared to other European countries like Norway, Switzerland etc. A student needs approximately 500 Euro to 600 Euro for his/her living expenses while studying in Germany. This amount will carter for the student’s food, accommodation, transportation, buying of books for one month.

- The cost of studying in Russia is very low and affordable with tuition fees usually ranging from $1000 to $4000 per year for international students.

Cost of living in Russia
Living cost in Russia, the world’s largest country, is low compared to other European countries. For students, a budget of $200 to $400 per month will be enough for feeding, accommodation, transportation etc. If you are planning to study in Russia, make sure you go there with lots of warm clothes as the country is very cold with temperatures ranging from 50C to -200C during winter periods.
The United Kingdom is a very popular study abroad country because of the high standard of living and education. About four countries makeup the United Kingdom and they include; England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland.

Cost of living in the UK countries varies. For example, the cost of living in England is usually higher than the other three countries. But generally, a budget of £600 to £1000 a month should take care of a student’s living expenses there. This amount will take care of the student’s accommodation, feeding, books, transportation for one month. This amount is just an estimate and may be lower or higher depending on the student’s spending habits.
