Educating Generations Y And Z
Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.— Aristotle
A Poem For The Teachers
This is a poem I found for teachers and caregivers everywhere. I hope it warms and helps you as much as it did me:
A Tribute To Caregivers
There is no job more important than yours,
no job anywhere else in the land.
You are the keepers of the future;
you hold the smallest of hands.
Into your care you are trusted
to nurture and care for the young,
and for all of your everyday heroics,
your talents and skills go unsung.
You wipe tears from the eyes of the injured.
You rock babies brand new in your arms.
You encourage the shy and unsure child.
You make sure they are safe from all harm.
You foster the bonds of friendships,
letting no child go away mad.
You respect and you honour their emotions.
You give hugs to each child when they're sad.
You have more impact than does a professor,
a child's mind is moulded by four;
so whatever you lay on the table
is whatever the child will explore.
Give each child the tools for adventure,
let them be artists and writers and more;
let them fly on the wind and dance on the stars
and build castles of sand on the shore.
It is true that you don't make much money
and you don't get a whole lot of praise,
but when one small child says "I love you",
you're reminded of how this job pays.
I am greatly concerned with today's standard of education. What exactly are we teaching the upcoming generations? I know that it has been pushed to take prayer and worship of God from the schools. It has been taught that is ok. Violence within schools has been overwhelming. Schools, for the most part, have become prisons and daycare centers and not educational centers. homosexuality
As a parent of children who are now grown and working and are out of the public school system, thank God, I pray for those within it now. Government officials are doing their best to cut funding for education while voting raises for themselves. Many of the teachers are teaching their own agenda; gays teaching to be gay; atheists teaching there is no God; Islamics teaching about Allah, but don't you dare bring Christianity into the school.
"A Congress that allows God to be banned from our schools while our schools can teach about cults, Hitler and even devil worship is wrong, out of touch, and needs some common sense." Rep. James Traficant, (D-OH) 1999-APR-27
So what now? It starts at home! You may not be able to home-school, but you can teach your child to stand for what he or she knows is right and true.
I have heard and seen horror stories from schools; horror stories that can be defeated by prayer and God. School shootings; kids raping other kids; devil worship, and teachers molesting students all can be defeated through prayer and teaching our children the Word of God.
The world is full of evil and as Christians, we are to be light. We are not to hide our light but let it shine. We are not to fear the world, but show our light and let the Holy Spirit guide us. Now by no means am I saying to not home-school your child; quite the contrary. As young Christians, we should be getting our offenses and defenses built up to stand against the evil forces so ready to attack. If you can home-school, I strongly urge you to consider it, but many don't have that ability.
For those of you with children in public schools, please talk with your children daily. Tell them if they have been mislead by a teacher or another student. Teach them to pray at all times; no matter what, public school officials can never stop silent prayer.
Billy Graham, evangelist: "Eighty percent of the American people want Bible readings and Prayer in the schools...Why should the majority be so severely penalized by the protests of a handful?
Remember people of the world, the next generation will be feeding and taking care of you when you are old and feeble. Social security will probably be no more; do you really want those who take care of you to be uneducated. Children are our future and we can make it right now.
Talk with your kids, get involved in the school, go to school board meetings. They are the most important resource we have.
Every time you stop a school, you will have to build a jail. What you gain at one end you lose at the other. It's like feeding a dog on his own tail. It won't fatten the dog. ~Mark Twain
