Elephant-Shaped Rocks
One of these days I would like to do a tour of the United States visiting all the big rock formations named after elephants. I'm not entirely sure why, but I bet it would be fun. These would be some of the locations to visit on an "elephant rock" tour of America. If you know of others please drop me a comment!
Nevada
Elephant Rock -- Valley of Fire
The Valley of Fire state park is located near Las Vegas. It contains many beautiful sandstone formation including elephant rock which is a naturally formed arch
What confuses me is that if you compare the postcard below with the modern pictures of what is ostensibly the same rock, they don't look the same. Can anyone explain this?

Elephants' Head -- Ausable Chasm
Ausable Chasm is a two mile long ravine with many named features including The Devil's Punch Bowl, Pulpit Rock, and the Post Office.
The elephant's head is about 200 feet high and I have to say I think it is a bit of a stretch, but you could kind of see it has an elephant's head and trunk as seen from the front.

Elephant Rock -- Tunnel Island
The waves have made a wide variety of channels, caves and arches in and around Tunnel Island, including Elephant Rock.

Elephant Rock -- Devil's Lake
The Devil's Lake Park is only about half a square mile in size. It features many interesting rock formations that look like animals and castles.
But going by this picture I think you would need to have a very good imagination to see an elephant in this one? Some more recent pictures show the details that look a little more like the features of an elephant.

New Zealand
Elephant rock near Tongaporutu in New Zealand sadly lost its trademark appearance when the trunk collapsed after the 2016 earthquake.
Any Others?
If you know of any other "Elephant Rocks" or have pictures you would be willing to share, please drop me a comment.
