What has become your priority?

Updated on March 29, 2010

Whats first on your list?

What are our priority's these days. What are we paying unhealthy attention to? What are we holding onto that is hindering our progress and healing. Have these things taken over and become our priority?

There are good priority's and there are the ones that bind our minds like depression, anxiety, guilt and worry. Whether we realize it or not, these things have become our priority. Priority because we put too much attention on them. Give them power over our lives without realizing it. Our priority's can hurt us or they can save us. God should be our first priority above all.

God gives us specific instructions in dealing with the things that bind and hinder us. God wants us to come out from under these things and remove the power they have over us. "Everything" that we are struggling with. In John 5:7 this states to; "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you". This does'nt mean "some" of it, but "All" of it. In Philippians 4:6 God says: "Do not be anxious about anything". In John 4:7 God wants us to be "Clear minded and self controlled so that you can pray". God wants us to be clear minded, free from.

We can be burdened and overwelmed by so many things. They can linger and get stuck in our minds like quicksand. They can pull us down with a force that is devistating! There is so much time we spend needlessly at the cost of our own peace of mind, our health and well being and our relationships with others and with God. These things can invade, cling and control our minds.

Worry, anxiety and depression can keep us trapped for days, weeks or even years. Matthew 6:34 clearly states: "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own" and verse 25 "Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear" and verse 27 "Who are you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?".

God should be our first priority in all things whether it be personal, financial, emotional or in our relationships. We should always be in aline with God at all times. When we worry, become anxious or get depressed we are not inline with God. God can remove all these things if we put him first in everything.

How can we expect God to change anything if he is not our priority?

TimesHealsAll, Great hub! You are right about God wanting first place in our lives! When we make Him our Top priority He will help us to put everything else in their proper place.

As you stated: "God should be our first priority in all things whether it be personal, financial, emotional or in our relationships. We should always be in aline with God at all times. When we worry, become anxious or get depressed we are not inline with God. God can remove all these things if we put him first in everything.

How can we expect God to change anything if He is not our priority?" AMEN! I agree!!!

God certainly does want first place above all else in our lives. When we place Him above everything, and He truly is Lord our priorities will be different. Anxiety and worry sure indicate that He is not Lord because that indicates a lack of trust. Trust and obey! That is the way!

It looks like we are up and atum this morning, speading the word of God. Good way to start the day! Yes, sometimes we pay too much attention and wallow in things too long which keeps our focus off of God "where it should be". Amen sister!! Thanks for stopping by! Blessings!!!

Great hub. You quoted one of my favorite Scriptures, I Peter 5:7. Thanks for reminding us that we are to keep our priorities right. At the top of the list is as you so aptly stated is "God." Enjoy reading your hubs.
