HOW IMPORTANT IS MONEY? IS THERE ANYTHING THAT MONEY CANNOT BUY?

Updated on May 10, 2009

Do not confuse the medium with the end result desired.

Before starting I have to make clear that "money" is the medium of exchange i.e. paper bills, precious gems, and financial tools such as bonds, and t-bills etc.  These are "things" that we use in organize society to facilitate acquiring some end result. The reason is there are so many products that bartering would be a great challenge because of how the economical structure of this wonderful world is set up.  Money is important because we need to find a medium of exchange for our basic needs, food, water, air, shelter, and other utilities necessary for the survival of the human being.

There are many things money cannot buy and guess what those are usually the best things in life according to this author. Money cannot buy you true friendship because when the money is gone the friend is gone so that friendship would be an illusion. It would be a very nice paid servant as far as I see that relationship. Money cannot buy you loyalty because if the person is there for the money and really do not care about you, then they are very likely to move on to a person who is wealthier.  Money cannot buy you the fidelity of a lover, they will be true to you or not and if they stay with you just for the money then I rank them in the same categories as a prostitute by definition.

Money cannot buy you time on earth, you may fall for the illusion that because of all these medical advances we are extending the lives of people.  Well the truth is when it is you time that is it and there is no amount of money that you can offer that will make you live longer when it is your time.

Some people may argue that oh if I get this thing or that thing then they will be happy and they need the money to get the item.  Well the reality is they first have to work to get the money to get the item and then the item itself is purchased then they are "happy".   Even in that scenario, it is the item not the money that is the true desire.

Money definitely cannot buy happiness, we see that is true when you have some of the wealthiest people miserable, abusing alcohol and other stimulants to try and find happiness.  money can only buy you goods and services, that is all money is good for in this world.  When dealing with humans, you need them to be truthful and money cannot buy the truth.  Money cannot buy all secretes.

Imagine this:

There is a beautiful tropical island that has fruits vegetables, great weather all year round, a clean water supply, and no hostile wild life.  There are only 100 inhabitants and they live at peace with each other like  well organized family.  The have all the basic needs and keep one another entertained.  There is no competition for the superficial items such as clothing, cars, houses etc.  Then some person come to the island with a suitcase full of money, what good with that money be to those people?  Their mentality would be different, the money would only look like colored paper it would be useless.

Do not get me wrong, money has an important place in society because world society is so large and complicated.  How ever the truth of the matter is money cannot buy everything.

I hope you have wonderful day.

This is my viewpoint on the matter.

For money to have value,it has to be backed up by something of value. When you write a check to pay for something your check is, an order to the bank to, pay the amount specified on the check, and if the amount you specify is more than you have in your account, you may be charged an overdraft fee for the difference,or for another fee for, writing a bad check."money" or promises to pay ,as in credit, are just that. You must have something of value to back up your promises. In this case, ultimately the full faith and credit of the people of the unitedstates of America. Our money is backed ultimately by the peoples faith in their money.Gold was used for this purpose, because gold could not be counterfitted. However now that gold and silver have been removed as backing of our currency, oil has been used for that purpose. That's why we are in Iraq,etc.. for the oil.Japan went to war over lack of oil.Germany lost,A war for lack of oil,or gasoline for their tanks. The middleast is rich in oil,and money. The International Monitary Fund, and the central banks around the world, including the federal reserve banks in the unitedstates, control All governments through credit and currency, backed first by gold and silver, minerals, oil, land, water as well as all food crops in production, ultimately the peoples faith in their money !
