Astrology and the truth

Astrology interprets characteristics, weaknesses and strengths of a person with predictions of the future based on the postion of the sun, planets and zodiacs.

It is a branch of science and it attempts to explain personalities and forecast the future.

Cosmic and earthly events are said to happen simultaneously and reflectively but what happens beyond earth, does not affect us here on Earth.

What happens on Earth or in the cosmos are both products of the moment. By studying the patterns and cycles of the planets, we can gather information to explain present events and possibly predict the future.

You have often looked at the horoscope and found that some of what was said is true but how can each person that is born under the same sign as you be having the exact same day?

Astrologists use your birth date and the time of birth to make it an accurate reading and yes they do use the position of the planets and stars to come up with their predictions.

A professional astrologer can help you when making life changing decisions and they are often accurate.

Horoscopes that you find in the local magazine or newspaper is not accurate and the information is not based on the real study of astrology and the shifting planets.

You will find that some of your friends have certain personality traits that match up to the horoscopes and often you find yourself dating a particular sign often.

Astrology and Zodiac explained

The position of the Sun viewed from Earth is called ECLIPTIC.

Twelve constellations divide the ecliptic into another twelve parts and each month the sun is in a different constellation.

The constellations are;

Capricorn

Aquarius

Pisces

Aries

Taurus

Gemini

Cancer

Leo

Virgo

Libra

Scorpio

Sagittarius

There are 10 planets including the sun and the moon, although they are not considered planets, they have an effect on Earth with people.

The sun sign represents the zodiac and its position at the time of birth. Ascending sun is the zodiac sign that is born at sunrise.

When an Astrologer does a reading they need to see where your sign was at the time of your birth. (Natal chart)

A persons personality and compatibility can be determined through the use of the chart and can see what good days and bads will be in the future.

Astrology, zodiac signs and planets do not cause the events in our lives but it can show strengths, weaknesses and favourable days.

Horoscopes

The word horoscope comes from the Greek word "horoskopos," which means "a look at the hours."

In ancient times the astrologers based their predictions on the planets and their alignment. They believed that the sun god and the moon god, effected things on Earth.

Astrologers today believe in the use of the planets, the moon and the sun as I explained earlier but to do an accurate reading, they need your time of birth, date and location.

For horoscopes that you see in the magazine, the astrologers use the sun signs based on the position of the moon. The moon effects our moods and emotions and this changes every few days. The reading in the magazines and daily horoscopes for general public are based on the average sign.

History of horoscopes

Horoscopes started in Babylon about 3500 years ago. Astrology in Greek means "Science of the Stars." The Chinese later became interested in astrology as they noticed that the sun and moon altered the seasons, with their changing positions.

Some historians belief that farmers learnt the constellations in order to know when to grow or harvest their crops.

In 500BC, Plato used astrology and studied it further. This practice continued on and in the 1600's, William Lilly renamed astrology, "Christian astrology"to avoid the wrath of the church.

The Chinese astrology is different to western astrology as they believe in the philosophy of water, earth, heaven, yin and yang, which is not what western astrologers believe.

They use five elements and 12 animal signs of the zodiac. The oracle bones also came from Chinese astrologists.

The difference between astrology and astronomy

Astronomy is the science that studies everything that is out of the earth's atmosphere. Planets, stars, asteroids, galaxies and celestial bodies. They base their studies on research and observation.

Astrology is the belief that the stars and planets affect the way events happen on earth and the things that people do.
