How to Achieve Dream Control or Lucid Dreams
How To Master Your Dreams
Dreams are those seemingly random images and scenes that flow through our resting minds while we sleep. Dreams take on many kinds of personifications be they phantasmagorical, nightmarishly frightening, or the erotic. Our dreams are the products of our subconscious minds surfacing to work out those situations and emotional algorithms our conscious mind cannot deal with while it is bombarded by the senses while we are awake. Dreams seem to be out of our control, they take on what ever scenery, situation, or personality that surfaces; but are dreams really out of our control?
In Lucid Dreaming the person becomes aware that they are in a dream while experiencing the dream. They realize that they are in a dream and from there can manipulate the dream environment to their pleasing. In this state of dream awareness a person can use the dream world to their advantage. Remember the world you are experiencing is the world that your mind has created and that world is all yours to manipulate and control. This is mastering the dream world. So how does one gain dream control?
Dream Control Steps:
- Get a dream journal, go out and get a tablet of paper and a pencil that you can keep next to your bed at night. When you awake the first thing you should do is write down the memories of your dream. Write down sights, sounds, smells, events, emotions, people, situations. Anything you can remember about the dream while awake.
- Set an alarm clock to wake you up, this abrupt awakening will pull you out of the dream state and you are more likely to remember your dream this way and be able to return to it upon going back to sleep.
- As you go to sleep ask yourself while awake... "Am I dreaming?" do this over and over every night before you drift off to sleep. By doing so repeatedly, over time you will begin asking yourself this question when you are dreaming and then you can become aware that you are dreaming while in the dream state.
- Once you are aware of the dream state you can try to manipulate the dream environment. If it is day time make it night time, if it is raining have the sun come out. Start out small and work your way up the ladder to being able to manipulate and control all aspects of your dreams. Once you have been able to master your dreams you will have achieved dream control.
