I Strive for Control in My Life

I learned about making sheep's wool during my stay in South Africa. An interesting process to oversee.

Challenges Make me Feel Stronger

I have faced many challenges since my emigration from one country to another.

From the African continent to the European continent, and to learning a new language.

I had to coped with another culture in my own way.

I have become my own leader along the way in teaching myself how to learn and grow into myself.

The most important is to be myself and not someone else.

I approach everything in my life like I was made for it.

I have always been confident, assertive, and decisive. I know what I want and I also make sure to go for it.

Taking care of my family, and friends, are one of the most important aspects of my life.

I learned the hard way in knowing what is best for my family is a big part of my life.

I have no fear in taking chances, and in confronting anyone who chooses to challenge my ideas.

I enjoy helping my good neighbors, and in communicating directly with those who need to let out their feelings, or expressions.

When I do feel threatened by an individual’s decisions, if they refuse to go along with me I let certain issues be.

I tend to be dominating and confrontational and this can sometimes be dictatorial.

I need to practice to allow someone else take charge on certain occasions. Meditation helps me out lots on such times.

It relieves or eases my anxiety and my controlling impulses that provoke the situation.

I discover my purpose once I take control of my situation.

Decision-making is the key to my life challenges. I am suited to being a leader in many parts of life and choose to be who I really am.

I will not change me for anyone else.

  • In doing things my own way is my best way. I am most satisfied doing things my way, as always.

Some people describe me as nurturing, supportive, and most helpful.

I am keen to help and show my good deeds.

I have a tendency to lose sight of my own needs and focus on the needs of others.

I am interested in goals and friendships and don't expect anything in return from helping others.

If or when others don't appreciate my help or support, I tend to help them even more.

I have always enjoyed being the center of attraction and still do.

I make sure my work and I am recognized by more people.

My image is important to me and maybe to others.

I work my hardest to make sure it reflects on my success.

I sometimes try to meet others' expectations but most of the time I meet my own expectations. Creativity is my pleasure in making something look perfect for an occasion.

I am sometimes described as too emotional but I don't see myself that way. Shallow relationships are not in my world. I prefer authentic connections the more positive choices in my life.

  • I had never found the need to adapt to societal expectations.

I embrace new challenges enthusiastically.

Sometimes I burn the candle at both ends that is because my interests are widely chosen.

My life needs adventure, excitement, and novelty. I often fill my life with what makes me happy and joyful. To feel excitement is a huge part of my new life. A journey that has only begun for me.

Sometimes people mistake my exuberance for impulsiveness or for the lack of discipline. Well, that is their opinion. Every individual is entitled to an opinion. It is why you write and hope to read comments about your work, or to read the opinions of other writers.

Most writers seek criticism to know more about their improvements in the writing skills. Certain people depend on me for my understanding and my wisdom.

I enjoy learning something new daily. Competition and to understand how things work as in modern technology has definitely showed me much more to deal with in life.

The greater the challenge the more enjoyable my learning experiences would be.

When I am under stress which is rarely, I don't isolate myself it would tear me down. Instead I choose to be with people to override that weakness with my strengths.

Trying to withdraw from reality is not going to make my life stronger.

I enjoy working on my own on new inventions. Working things out for myself is one of my best challengers.

  • I am described as loyal, hardworking, and predictable.

In my life the safety of my loved ones, including my friends are most important.

I am a respectful being of authority, who strives for what is expected of me.

My preferences are new technology, and prefer to stay with the tried and true especially, in my new knowledge learned.

Responsibility and authority helps me make my decisions. Something that makes a part of me who I truly am in my life.

I have people who depend on me for their needs.

Often I seek opportunities where I can be in charge of people and outcomes.

I am the achiever who wants to be recognized by my ambitious life.

I accomplish whatever I know is going to make a difference in my life.

Writing is part of that difference and at times I inspire others.

  • I have not neglected my personal life and won't let that be.

Advising others is another part of what I do. Though not every person should follow anyone's advise and I don’t expect anyone to follow my advise. It is just a thought of them listening to what I have to say. My words can help them or be overlooked.

At least I know I have tried to make some kind of difference in their lives.

If you are having a problem in focusing on who you really are, or you are meant to be. First try to make a difference in someone's life to see the kind of person you are and can be.

The several styles, modes of thought and behavior of one can give you a sense of direction in many different ways.

There will always be the one who dominates, or who is the leader in a group it could be you or anyone else.

If you don't have the best shot in fulfilling your potential it can make you feel stuck in a rut.

  • Do you want to feel stuck in a rut?

  • What is stopping you from moving on facing up to your challenges?

Writing should be enjoyable and worth your daily experience.

I have certainly learned from a not so fragile being to a much stronger person. I feel that nothing can hurt me anymore.

I have come too far in my life to let my guard down now.

I am outspoken and speak directly if someone doesn't like the way I am, I don’t care. I speak the way I please and always say what I feel directly.

Everybody has a right to their opinions never feel you don’t want to or can’t do it.

With a positive mind you can be free to do anything you want in life.

If you want to have a fun-filled life look for those who can join you. Don’t let the years go by thinking age has got you. It is not age that has you my friend, it is you who has your body, mind and soul in control.

On how you choose to use your life is not up to others but only up to yourself.

I learned the hard way from leaving my home to live in Croatia and know more now than I did in my past life. Experiences have changed my life in many ways.

  • If I knew then of what I know does make me think at times!

You should strive for your best qualities to have a happier life. Don't ignore the not so good qualities that is what taught you the most about your life.

I try to be myself first... and to be kind with myself... and that's hard to do :-) I work very hard on what I do. I also like to help others but if they don't want my help, I will not force someone to accept it. I suppose that if they don't want help, they don't need it and I want to respect that.

DDE - It seems we have a few things in common - we were both daughters of Africa and have 'a tendency to lose sight of our own needs and focus on the needs of others' . You have been one of my most supportive followers - always there to pass a comment or share a little wisdom. I am very grateful to you for that. It is a difficult road we have traveled and we are both survivors. Thanks for sharing.

It took a tremendous amount of courage to make the change that you did, going to live in Croatia where so many things were new and foreign to you. I admire your strength and self-commitment.

DDE, I just admire you. I've lived in the same place my entire life and can't imagine moving to the next neighborhood, even though I want to move. It takes a lot of courage and strength to be bold and brave. Bravo! I love what you wrote here, "I approach everything in my life like I was made for it." That's perfect.
