In God's Timing

Updated on June 11, 2012

Holding out for God's Divine intervention

I am a short story writer. I love getting straight to the point. I write about Growing spiritually.
I am a short story writer. I love getting straight to the point. I write about Growing spiritually.

Faith is the key

Everything is in God's timing. Sometimes this can be hard for some to understand or except. In Alanon Their motto is "Let go and Let God". Simple? Not so easy and Boy do we know that!

Getting in God's way is a natural reflex. That's what we are familar with. That's what we've become acustomed to. It's part of our nature. We just can't get out of God's way!

How do we know when we are getting in God's way. God cannot do his will in us because we want to do it "our way" not "God's way". Sometimes we are more responsible than we realize for halting the progress of things. We are bound and determined to be in control of everything. We forget about God and what his purpose might be. And believe me he has one.

When we get in God's way we have taken matters out of Gods hands and put them into ours. The scripture says: "And my God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" Plilippians 4:19.

How do we know when we are getting in God's way? Well, for one...we keep beating our heads against the wall. And two....we seem to be making enemies, not friends. We just keep running up against a brick wall.

We cannot do it alone my friends. We've tried and failed. Sometimes you just gotta step back and pray about it......give God a chance. He know's what he's doing, your in good hands!

Sometimes our lives seem like a puzzle. pieces scattered everywhere and putting those pieces back together seems impossible. We just don't have the answers or the solutions, but guess what? Someone does! It's so much easier when you give it to God! Maybe not overnight or in a day. Rome wasn't built in a day!

The Bible clearly states: "There is a time for everyrhing, and a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace" Ecclesiastes 3-8. Everything has a time and a purpose.

We all are in God's time. We are all in a specific place at a specific time. Understanding comes from being able to relate to someone or something we have in common. If we weren't in a specific place we wouldn't have that specific message to share. Everything is in God's timing. We are all in place. All things work together for the Gory of God.

God "KNOWS" what he's doing, Trust him. He won't let you down! Step out in faith, relax....Take a....D...E.....E....P breath and repeat after me.......IT IS.. WELL, it is well...with my Lord.

I love Philippians 4:19. This is my second bible verse I memorized as a child. The first was Philippians 4:13 and John 3:16 was third. I have had to train myself to let go and let God. I have had to constantly ask him to give me the strength to let him take care of those things I worry about. And for those things I would like to do, to glorify his name. This hub is a blessing! Thank you so much~ peace and joy with you all of your days~:-)

Bless you exjwlaurie! Sometimes it takes forever to break our cycle because we're so caught up in it. You'd think we'd realize at some point that we can't do it alone, and we don't have to. God says..if it is in line with His will (meaning a good outcome for all involved/best interest) it shall be done. Prayer is essential to healing and meditating on His word puts us in touch with Him in a very special way. God so wants to have an intimate relationship with each and everyone of us. He wants us to trust Him in ALL things, turn to Him in ALL things and have FAITH in HIS promises! Amen!! Happy to be your fan too!!!

Such a perfect reminder to all! Sometimes I think that God steps back and says: "Okay--give it a go, when you get tired, come to me, and I'll take care of it for you!"

How much wiser to just pray--then get out of the way!

      Great hub!

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter Eiddwen. She is with God and she is also with you and she will forever remain with you. She has a special place in your heart. Everything is in God's timing and God's hands. We can only be thankful for the time we spent with them for they are precious. Life is but a wisp/vapor and then we go on to be with our Lord in everlasting peace and joy. There is no happiness more abundant than His. It takes time to heal from the physical attachment but in time it will become easier to bare. It's never easy losing a child. My prayers will be with you. Happiness must be sought from within. We are contantly adjusting. This is God's purpose for us. Trials help us to grow. This is the only way to become complete, the way God intended us to be. Growth only happens through trials. Revenge is of satan. Satans purpose is to keep you from looking to God for healing. God will strengthen you. I look forward to reading your hubs and being your fan as well. God bless you!!!

This is a brilliant hub. Well done and I know exactly where you are coming from. I may not go to chapel or chyrch every Sunday but I am big believer and today I realise that my spiritual strength that has been my crutch through so much heartache!! Today I stand tall and I can honestly say I have found my way to self worth happiness from within.

These are two factors that we are entitled to and no one has the right to deprive us !

Sometimes the only way to get revenge is to be happy in your own life. This doesn't mean that we will never suffer heartache again but we will learn to live and adjust with confidence!! I lost my beautiful 17 year old youngest daughter last year hence my hub 'My Beautiful Little Girl' therefore this is a time of great heartahe and adjustment. However I know she is in the hands of God and Iess will never ever stop telling people about her! I am going to bookmark this hub and mark it up TimeHealsAll.

I am very glad that I found you on here! Thank you for sharing this hub!! Take care and God bless!!

Tminut, thanks for your response. Yes, a lot of times God does have to hit us hard. God takes care of those who help themselves. When we have done all we can do it's time to let go and let God. Sometimes waiting on God makes us weary and we begin to lose our faith but we must hold on a little while longer because there is a plan and a purpose that God has for us. The closest way to God is on our knees and the battle belongs to the lord. Bless you brother!

What happens when you ARE supposed to be doing something but you just keep waiting for God to take care of it? That's something I worry about - am I missing the little hints and even the big signs; sitting here thinking I'm leaving it to God while he's up there yelling and waving his arms, "Hell-OO!" He HAS had to smack me in the head a few times...

Thank you HOOWANTSTONO for your comment. God wants to do his work in everyone of us and sometimes we can get in the way of that by doing things "our way" instead of "His way", therefore prolonging his will for us and yes God does turn our weakness's into strengths. All things work together for the Glory of God.

I dont think we could ever get in Gods way, he knows us better than ourselves, and his patience becomes ours. For all the times we made mistakes, God turns them into strengths.

Good things come to those that wait upon the Lord

      Go well

Thank you for your encouraging words! Yes, I agree, “Everything is in God's timing. Sometimes this can be hard for some to understand or accept.”

I have been deeply convicted, in recent months, to give God ALL the glory, and to be much more public about my challenges, and His saving grace, rather than take any pride in being able to figure out my own rescue plan.

I hope you understand what I’m saying with that last part. I know all good things come from God, and I know that any favor we may experience, with any of our own efforts, is because of Him, yet, when I spend so much energy worrying, and wracking my brain for a solution to my problems, there’s a sense of ownership in the resolved dilemma, whatever that may be, right now it’s definitely my finances.

For many of us, to choose not to worry is a conscious effort, and when we don’t experience an immediate rescue from our problem at hand, it definitely tests our faith, over time.

In other words, my emotions change from minute to minute, as my circumstances remain as they are, so yes, I’m speaking from a personal level, when I say God knows how to build our faith endurance. This ‘faith endurance’ building has been a painful ordeal for me, but I know God can do anything!

I love this verse: “say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Isaiah 35:4

I’m so ready for Him to show His power in my life, and the lives of those around me.

Thanks Alie! I'm glad you stopped by! It's hard to not step in when you love someone. It's hard to even think about letting go sometimes. It takes baby steps for all involved. It's easier said than done. One step at a time, one day at a time. We need to start somewhere. As for exceptance, that's a big one too. As for me, i find that if i just take a break for one evening and give it to God i am having Faith. Take care sister.:)

Thank you so much for stopping in and leading me here! You are absolutely right, everything is in God's timing. Being a friend of Lois's for many years, I know that phrase well and it was hard! Just as hard as wrapping my mind around the one word "acceptence"!

Thank you for the encouraging words and reminding me that when my life seems like a puzzle, God knows how to put that puzzle together.

I like everything else you had to say too. I was trying to explain to a friend of mine last nite that when he constantly helps his daughter out of trouble, he takes away her natural consequences and may delay her learning.

      God Bless You!!!

Beautiful hub my lovely sister. If we get out of God's way, He will work His perfect will in us for His glory. We will be His instruments in the salvation of many souls for Him. We will soothe and help heal the wounds of others and we will be joyful. We will have purpose and feel the love of God. We will be an example to our family and to the whole world. Love you sis.
