LAUGHTER, it's GOOD MEDICINE !!!
Medical researchers, scientists, those highly intelligent and principle minded persons who are learned in the truths and operations of general laws which have been tested through scientific methods, have found out that laughter has great consoling benefits in regards to ones health.
We all know that there is really nothing like a good laugh. Whether we hear a joke to get us rolling in laughter, or we're watching one of our many favorite comedians doing stand-up or giving a grand performance in a movie/comedy. Laughter can get all the inner kinks out and we seem to feel better afterwards (although there are those times when we have those side-splitting laughs that leave our stomach or side hurting!!!). Yet, even with those, we experience a sense of relief. Researchers have found truth to the following benefits of laughter:
*RELIEVES STRESS: Eases tension and improves the digestion and metabolization of food. Helps to dissipate depression and eliminate fatigue. Laughter, especially combined with a positive outlook on life and positive self esteem, can strengthen the immune system.
*LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE: Causes the blood vessels to expand, thereby impoving the quality of ones circulatory system, and improving the heart rate.
*INCREASES ENDORPHINS: A group of peptides (organic compounds) found in the brain. They have been found to have the same effect as pain relievers, and certain narcotics as they bring on a euphoric feeling without the aftertaste of addiction.
Laughter is esential to our well-being. It is not only healing and helpful to those who are ill, it helps to sustain being well in those of us who are healthy. I am certain, that we are all aware that 'laughing' alone will not prevent all illnesses nor will cure all those who are ill. However, laughter has been proven to alleviate certain symptoms of illnesses. Proof has even been found in those afflicted with acute and chronic illnesses.
Being optimistic, rather than pessimistic, helps:
Mental and emotional challenges of past regrets, guilt and stress are released through the avenues of expression such as talking, anger, crying, exercise and participating in a hobby or sport you enjoy. Laughing, is another avenue to release and relieve these tensions.
Rich laughter is most often combined with deep inhalation and strong exhalation. This exercises and strengthens the internal organs. Increases the brain/body's oxygen levels and decreases carbon monoxide. Endorphin production is increased, the whole body functions better and you will feel a great sense of relief.
HOPE YOUR DAY IS FILLED WITH QUALITY MOMENTS OF LAUGHTER!!!!!!

When it comes to laughter yoga, faking it ‘til you make it is just fine. At least, that's what Vishwa Prakash said at the start of the session that HuffPost's health news editor Amanda Chan and I wandered into recently.
